$1250 / 12 hrs = $104 per hour which is a normal plumbing rate. Pays for the truck, gas, 12 hrs of labor, parts, and overhead for the boss. She wants work done for free. $150 is what they charge to look at the job. Get real lady!

My plumber came to fix two issues in my bathroom and kitchen. This was a year ago and until now he has not sent me a bill. I left him a big box of sweets in the shed which he took and was pleased with. My plumber is God sent.

The lesson is this; you hire people to do things because YOU can't do it. Their ability is worth something. Their time is worth something. Their work is worth something. Their equipment is worth something. You don't dictate those things. The professional you hired dictates those things. Cheap, entitled people are infuriating.

Exactly. I live in a rural area, where $80-$100 for a house call is average. If you need 24-48 hour emergency service, it is a lot more. Because a lot of people decide to go with another company, there is a minimum assessment fee. But, with four hours work and three plumbers, the whole cost was $112 per hour per worker, which is entirely fair. Two toilets, a shower, and a sink--for a quick resolution, they needed three workers. One guy would have had to spend a whole day and possibly part of a second day.

That woman is just nuts here in England 🇬🇧 at 6pm that would be considered emergency plumber and you definitely wouldn't get 3 turn up you'd only get 1 and what she paid put that into pounds sterling that would be so cheap but for her to say it was 150 that is just so insulting to the professionals who turned up and fixed the 4 problems for her in JJ usual term MORON 😂😂

I had a plumber come out because a pipe in the basement was leaking and the property manager didn't care to look at it himself. The plumber just had to tighten the valve with a wrench. He still billed the property manager for an hour of labour because it's a waste of his time.

I live in a 2 story house and even I know when it's really below freezing out, you turn on the faucets in your sinks and bathtubs and flush the toilets once or twice so the pipes don't freeze.

Plumbers around here charge $80-$100 for a house call. That is just one plumber coming out. If it takes more than an hour, you are charged for each additional hour. We live in a rural area that is considered low cost. I can't imagine how much they charge per plumber per hour in urban areas. Looks like it was about $112/hour for each of the three plumbers. Two toilets, a shower, and a sink that needed to be done quickly--I would say that is fair. One guy would probably have taken 10 or 12 hours by himself.

You can't just break that down in hourly pay. You have trucks tools insurance overhead payroll taxes the list goes on and on. $150 for 3 guys to come out for a emergency call after hours during a storm. He could have charged much more than he did. $150 is absolutely absurd!

If l get a complaint , l would say go and get what you need for material to get job done. I would happy to tell you what you will need. But l ask for half up front and additional expenses should it comes up.
