Okay, as a professional cosmetologist/barber - I’m debunking the myth, right now. The reason why hair FEELS like it comes back more course (texture) - is because it’s being cut to a blunt edge. This is why, when waxing - hair comes in, more seamlessly. Because it has to grow back, completely from scratch; which means - the end will have a natural taper. This is why, also, beards/facial hair, grows out much more nicely/smoothly/with less ingrown hairs, when using a straight-razor over a normal, store-bought razor - because it’s cut with a more sharp implement. Think of it like cutting your hair with those kindergarten-type scissors vs. sharp, Japanese metal hair cutting shears. Or, think of the difference when One gets a haircut using shears vs. a razor-cut. The razor cut has a much shaggier look - because the ends are cut in a tapered manner. Also, it is not possible for hair to grow back more thick (as in, density), after shaving; because shaving One’s hair - does not create more hair follicles, for hair to grow out of. Lastly, many people believe hair grows back darker, when it’s shaved. Not true. When hair is exposed to sunlight - it’ll naturally turn lighter. When One shaves - that new hair, has yet to have prolonged contact, with sunlight. So, what One is actually use to - is a variation, of their natural hair color, prior to shaving. I pray you found this information supportive. 💛
