Narendra Modi has been a hundred years in the making. Vinay Sitapati's Jugalbandi provides this backstory to his current dominance in Indian politics. It begins with the creation of Hindu nationalism as a response to British-induced elections in the 1920s, moves on to the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 1980, and ends with its first national government, from 1998 to 2004. And it follows this journey through the entangled lives of its founding jugalbandi: Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani.
Over their six-decade-long relationship, Vajpayee and Advani worked as a team despite differences in personality and beliefs. What kept them together was fraternal love and professional synergy, of course, but also, above all, an ideology that stressed on unity. Their partnership explains what the BJP before Modi was, and why it won.
In supporting roles are a cast of characters-from the warden's wife who made room for Vajpayee in her family to the billionaire grandson of Pakistan's founder who happened to be a major early founder of the BJP. Mr.Reddy questions seems to be a certain agenda driven. He contested calling BJP a modern party. Wonder which other party in India can be considered modern as per his standards. May be according to hom.a modern party is a party which appeases minorities at the expense of hindus. He also asked what is BJP plan for 15%. May be he should ask himself what laws BJP did to reduce 15% to 2nd class citizens. Even the so called hindu party still didn't liberate hindus from the oppressive state control yet whereas other communities are free to do whatever they want

You need not be a great scientist to understand what Modi has done to minorities. He's already labelled them 2nd class citizens and don't try to defend him unnecessarily.

@@saqibsaleel9196 Can you spell out exact policies that Modi enacted which to make them 2nd class citizens. Dont give me speculation/propaganda but exact laws/details. On the other hand, below are some of the laws/policies favoring minorities of India. a) Separate civil code b) Complete control of waqf/mosques/ etc (hindus dont have that luxury) c) Subsidies for religious pilgrimage d) State funded minority educational institutions. Now tell me which other country (no chance in Muslim majority country) in the world gives this kind of preferential treatment to its minorities. Also please study the demographic changes in India vs Pak/BD. Its one way street.

@@udaykarant 1) Hajj pilgrimage - Now income tax return is mandatory for all the pilgrims travelling to Hajj. Do you know(of course not😂😂) 99% of them save money for 20 25 years and then travel. And now to prove the income being less than the BEL is becoming very difficult. That's not the case with others. 2) Article 370- No internet for almost a year. Can you live without internet? Looking at your Andh bhakt type long message proves u can't. U can't even for 10 minutes. Like this 100 points I can give. So God has given us eyes. And Brain to use. Be thankful to almighty and use it. You are the ultimate loser if unused. Not me at least.
