I love so much how you express very simply your internal struggles Anna. You are indeed a "traveling climber who makes a living from her youtube films about climbing", but not only climbing, also personal growth, mental health and human endeavor, and this is amazing!

best part of climbing videos is goofy fun with friends IMO, all the structure and grading and instruction that gets into them is icing rather than cake. Great video! :)

Hey Anna! I'm only a recent fan but I've made it my mission to binge all your videos. Your energy and enthusiasm is just great and i love it. I do have a question following from one of your videos (the ab bar workout), Would you say your hyperflexibility positively or negatively impacts your climbing (or not at all haha)? Interested to hear, keep up the awesome work!
@AnnaHazelnutt3 жыл бұрын
Hi!! Amazing ahaha, I hope you enjoy the binge journey! Sooo this is a two part answer because at first, it really hindered my progress. I found myself getting some sort of hypermobility injury every month it seemed for the first couple of years. These injuries culminated in this hyperextension shoulder injury that took like... 7 months on and off to recover from. The injuries stemmed from me lacking the strength to support my muscles and tendons at their max range. I started doing a ton of physical therapy, and eventually (read: after YEARS) found myself feeling strong in full extension. With strength at the full range of motion, I started benefiting from my flexibility... without the injury part. Now, I think it's my physical strength and am soooo grateful for how flexy I am! Long winded response but hopefully that answers it haha.
