While I respect this form of Jugger, this is not the mainstream version. Jugger is a light contact foam sport that is most popular in Germany. This is more like the movie form which the mainstream version is also based upon.

The european rules for Jugger are different: The rules for hitting each other are stricter, and there is no body-armour. (Kind of like Rugby vs American Football.) The gameplay is faster than american Jugger and more tactical. The european style is more about team-tactics, the american style more about one-on-one fights.

Just to leave a counter argument I have to disagree about the German/European style of the game. My biggest issue with it is it’s more akin to a team one touch Fencing match as an actual game of Jugger like the film. It’s absolutely fast, but it’s a game of tag and last man standing than any actual tactics or grind to score a point
