I think it was the green shield they mentioned. If you look early in the round Vikram has a green outline. Best I can figure from the mod info, they have a game option on where first death gets a shield next game.

From the document of the mod linked in the description, my best guess is that it's a shield granted to the first person to die in the previous game, which is visible to everyone, but only lasts one round. Seems right, especially since sometimes they try to keep a person alive who keeps dying first round in multiple games, so that would be a nice quality of life option.
