-Mental -
The most important quality for beginning jugglers is persistence. You may not improve every time you juggle, but if you keep practicing regularly for several weeks and months, your skills will greatly expand. Try for new records, but be patient when they don’t come right away. Every time you practice juggling you grow muscles in your legs and cells in your brain that improve your skills. With regular practice, you will gradually become the excellent juggler you always wanted to be.
- Use Hands -
Use your hands when you are first learning to juggle. Start by using your hands between each touch, then gradually increase the number of touches until you feel comfortable juggling without using your hands as support. Like training wheels on a bike, using your hands can help you learn faster by enabling you to maintain more control during the early stages of learning.
- Alternate -
One of the keys to successful juggling is using both feet in combination to control the ball. Skillful jugglers develop a rhythm, moving the ball frequently between both feet. It’s important that you begin working with both feet right away, juggling the ball between them as often as you can.
- Use Backspin -
One of the most difficult challenges for beginning jugglers is keeping the ball from getting away from them. To help solve this problem, drop the ball with a slight backspin, and try to maintain the spin as you juggle. You will find that backspin keeps the ball coming back to you rather than getting away. As your skills improve, backspin will become a less important part of juggling. More advanced jugglers can use their toes to keep the ball up with no spin and greater precision.
- Weak Foot -
Juggling is far easier and more effective when both feet are involved. To help your weak foot become a full partner with your strong foot, spend some time improving your weak foot separately. Try to set new records using only your weak foot, even if the number of touches is small. If your weak foot can juggle the ball at least 5 times, it should be strong enough to alternate with your other foot and improve your overall juggling.
- No Hands -
With consistent practice you’ll be ready to go hands free. When you’re ready, practice juggling without using your hands by rolling the ball up your foot and into the air. Place one foot on top of the ball, quickly rolling it backwards and flicking the ball into the air.
- Next Steps -
As you become comfortable juggling with your lower body, your next step is to master ball control with your upper body. In future videos we’ll show training methods for upper body control, tricks, and game-related juggling skills.

Gonna update make sure to like to motivate me 1 First day I obviously sucked and the ball is every where 2 day I practiced for 2hrs and am a slightly better 3 day also 2 hrs and my technique got little better 4 day 3 hrs OMG I can at least do 3 don't judge 5 days I keeps practicing for 1 hr and I feel a big difference from 1 day and I can do 1/6 juggle :) 6 day I keep practicing and working on my tips like using hads and bouncing it and I improved 7 day I did it for almost 3 hrs and I improved a lot I can do 10 ; 8 day did it for 1 hr cuz didn't feel like it and improved a lot I kept practicing for more days I only got better and better and can do like 15/20 jiglegled Kept practicing for like idk a week I skipped days but I improved a looot I can do like 32/33 I practiced for 3 hrs and juggled more and more and able to do 49 Am happy with the results am gonna keep practicing and practicing so ya I hope this motivate u I practiced today also and am incredibly amazed of where I am now no am practicing more and more

This is a really great story! Thanks for sharing it. We would like to get more detailed updates on your progress as you continue to practice and improve. It is good for others to see how improvement happens. If you keep practicing hours every day like this you will likely be juggling over 1,000 within months, and you might start adding tricks. Keep up the good work!

I was doing this and listening to the video at the same time and I started with my left thigh and then hit the ball with my right foot so hard and at an angle so it hit me in the face 😂😑 The struggle is real.

I play football from the age of 7 now i'm 13. At 7 i cant juggle at all, but now i can juggle 400 times and can do some tricks like htatw.I just want to say never give up, practice makes perfect.

Great jugglers usually start with a record of less than 7, so you are in good company. They become great by working at it every day, often for hours, week after week, month after month, and even years. At first it may seem like hard work, but it gets easier and more fun as your skills improve. How good you become is mostly up to you. Good luck!

I started 4 days ago, so I'll make sure to update every day on my progress: Day 1: I can only do 2 without the use of my hands. Day 2: My record increased only by one, but I find it difficult to maintain the ball in the same place. Day 3: I re-checked the proper technique and now after about 1-2 hours of training my personal record increased to 6. Day 4: So far I have only been doing it on my dominant foot (right), I need to work more on the left but once I can do 20 in my right foot I'll do the whole progress for my weak foot. The record is now 11. Day 5: Almost there. After 2 hours of continuous practice, I can now do a total of 17, I got there twice. Which I feel like is a lot of improvement. My weak foot record is 3. Day 6: After an hour of practice, PR is now 18 with my dominant foot. Left foot is at 5 now. Day 7: 30 minutes in, beat my personal record on my right foot. It's now 33. I will now focus on my left foot.

This will be useful information for others to learn from your experience. With that much practice you could be juggling over 1,000 within 2-3 months. Remember to alternate between your left and right foot. You are probably good enough to start working on that. already. Good luck!

+mia uchiha Try starting juggling with your knees, then letting it drop to your feet, and don't forget to use your hands at first while you are getting used to it. Using your hands in between can actually help you learn faster at first, because it helps you keep control and focus on what matters most when you are first learning. And most importantly, keep practicing everyday. Good luck!

AllAttack, I always hit the ball too hard or soft. What is the proper height to kick the ball when juggling? For beginners, that is.

+Poke Hunter The answer depends on several things, but in general, beginners who are starting to make progress tend to hit the ball about 1-3 feet above their feet or knees. Each person is different, but 1-3 feet is probably a good height to strive for. As you improve, the height should decrease a bit, depending on the type of juggling you are doing.

I played soccer for 8 years, I quit playing in the 7th grade because I wanted to cheer, after cheer I quit doing sports do to a wrist injury and depression started to hit me hard, I’m in my senior year and I’d like to do soccer again, I haven’t trained since 7th grade. I’m hoping my mind can remember and I can make the team. Wish me luck.

Gonna update this everyday Day 1: I practiced 25 minutes inside my room and my right foot was kinda bad but my left foot eas horrible and then I injured it Update: It’s been 9 months I did get off track and forgot about the comment cause i couldn’t find it but I have improved just a little so I’m doing back to it. I did not quit by the way and I am restarting it again back to day 1 5/26/20 Day 1: Juggled 30 a piece in 10 sets if I got lower then 30 I kept restarting back to 0 took me a while my record was 111 Edit: KZbin for some weird reason just keeps deleting this comment and bring it back wtf 5/27/20: Juggled for half an hour, no record made 5/28/20: Worked on other skills but focused on juggling 5 sets of 20 5/29/20: Cannot get past 100, and got frustrated trying to go 30 so I stayed at 5 sets of 20 again 5/30/20: Juggled same 5 sets of 20 5/31/20: Attempted a new record, but got 89 and my juggling been improving a little on the sets 6/1/20: This day sucked, had trouble getting to 20 on the sets, got me frustrated 6/2/20: Juggled non stop for 45 minutes 6/3/20: Couldn’t make it past 100 again, failed at 86 and continued the sets 6/4/20: Finally could advance to 5 sets of 30 now 6/5/20: Continued the 5 sets of 30 6/6/20: Juggled 30 mins straight 6/7/20: Continued the same juggling routine and tried 60 for a set but failed 6/8/20: Finally juggled a record and broke it with 136 then 206 6/9/20: Found out my juggling was a little wrong because I’ve never hit in the middle but instead the edge 6/10/20: In an attempt to bring it the middle, spent 45 minutes working on it 6/11/20: Another bad day, could not juggle the middle good at all 6/12/20: Juggled non stop for 45 mins with the 5 sets of 30 6/13/20: Juggled another 30 minutes with 5 sets of 30 6/14/20: Juggled 5 sets of 30 and one of them finally went to 60 6/15/20: Juggling 60 for sets as 5 sets of 60 6/16/20: Went for 10 sets of 30 6/17/20: Juggled 5 sets of 60 6/18/20: Another bad day, went out to juggle 60 for the sets and started to keep failing for an hour

I am a pretty good winger/playmaker...15 yrs old... i can dribble very well and am very pacey, my trapping skills are also up to the mark but i just cant get beyond 2 juggles please give tips

+Amanbir Singh It might help to start with the ball in your hands and begin by bouncing it off your knees, using your hands to catch the ball in between to help you keep the ball in control. As you get more comfortable with the rhythm of juggling, you can begin letting the ball drop from your knees to your feet. You can also use your hands to help you keep the ball in control with your feet at first. But the most important advice we can give you is to practice juggling every day for at least 30 mins or more (much longer if you can), and continue practicing for several weeks and months, allowing your brain and body enough time to grow the new cells needed to master juggling. The more you practice, the more your body and brain will adapt for juggling. Good luck!

Amanbir Singh im the best dribbler and passer in my class. It has 19 students. Ecen though alot suck. Like literally i once saved a penalty then an outfield player gace me the ball with his hand. Which led us to a draw. And then my friend was gonna get the ball(he was on the same team) and he pushed him and gave it to the opponent. It finished 3-4. Without him we would have won 3-2

I usually keep my toes pointed slightly down and by shinpads out and socks rolled down so the ball stays even and it makes it easier to get better touches. I learned that from a girl on my team who can knock off 253 juggles and I've gotten so much better

Im gonna update every day And train everyday for 2 hours Day 1 im not good at all I can only do 1-3😥 Day 2- not to sure im maybe better bit still not vert good Day 3 I trained for 1 hour And im much better and my record is 6 Day 4 i only trained for only 30 minutes cuz i didbt feel well and i dont feel a big difference Day 5 I dont feel well at all i only trained for 15minutes and my record is 8 Day 5 im starting to get better and i trained for 30-45 minutes

+samuel adelumola You are very likely to succeed if you keep trying every day for a long time without giving up. The main difference between players who can juggle well and those who cannot is the total amount of hours they have practiced doing it. If you make a chart and record 1 hour of juggling practice every day for 1 year, you will have practiced 365 hours. After that much practice, you will probably be great at juggling compared with before. You don't have to practice for a year to see improvement, just be patient for the first few weeks and months while you put in enough time each day. Just believe in yourself and in the power of practice, and put in the effort each day, and you will be amazed how good you can get. Go for it!

How this turned out for me. Test Day(11/24): practiced inside with a bouncy ball for 2 minutes (before my dad yelled at me & its 6 and dark outside) continued to watch videos on what to do Day 2 goals: Practice for at least 30 minutes

Roscko lmao im an upcoming freshman and I juggled 23 times which is my best and I made the team ps. Its not just from juggling. We had 4-5 days of tryouts, from agility and ball control to shooting and passing. We pretty much covered the whole thing and I luckily made the team!!

I used to be very bad at juggling and I always wanted to do the all around the world skill. I knew I couldn’t do it if I didn’t know how to juggle so I practiced small touches every day. Eventually I got a good rhythm and now I can do the all around the world, crossover, and many other tricks.

+Cranberry Juice We recommend using your hands at first to help the ball stay in control. If you practice every day and focus enough on improving your control, your brain and body should gradually learn how to keep each touch in control without using your hands. Remember to be patient and persistent in practicing.

+Cranberry Juice It may be easier to start with your knees only at first, then when you improve on your knees for awhile, let the ball drop from your knees to your feet for one or more touches. Ultimately the best way to improve is to keep trying everyday for long periods of time, for weeks and months, even if it seems like it's not working at first. Players who can juggle well weren't born that way. They just never gave up until they finally learned it. Good luck!

Hi me and my brother mostly play defensive positions and we go to park everyday. There is only me and my brother no one else and there is no goal We mostly practice doing straight passes and sometimes we try to dribble each other while the other person tries to defend and we switch. What do think we have to practice on with only two people? Thanks

I’m going to start juggling every single day and see what happens , make sure to like to motivate me to keep on working hard :D I have been playing soccer a lot during my life , but I never focused on what’s most important. So let’s begin. Day 1: I can do 1 - 2 juggles with the ball. It usually flies away on the first hit.

You can start with your knees at first, which tend to be easier. Then when you get used to the rhythm, drop the ball to your feet. Good luck!
