Daniel Johns mentioned in his podcast that he was listening to a lot of Kyuss at the time he deleted the Neon Ballroom follow up. I think this song especially, but also One Way Mule, and Lever, show that influence. You can here it in the vocal style and in the ultra detuned guitars. I love where Silverchair ended up going with Diorama, but it would be interesting if Silverchair went the sludge and doom route. Except for Young Modern, Silverchair often flirted with being a metal band.

@@JarredCarneyOFFICIALBULLDOG Frog Stomp was a storming first album, even better considering how young they were. Freak show is one of the greatest albums ever released. Neon ballroom had some great tunes on it and showed some real innovation for its day. After that, they did the same thing that a lot of bands do and got too pretentious and experimental.

They were so young when they 'made it'. Burnout was always going to be an eventuality. Personally I think Diorama was a masterpiece although I'm.more of a fan of the first two albums and that sound. I wish this song could have made it onto Diorama though.
