This was the first ever song my father ever showed me. Not something he played on the radio and I happened to hear, he purposefully made me come and sit and listen with him. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that day now. My father just recently passed completely unexpectedly. I love this song so much more now, but my heart hurts so much to hear it. When you experience goosebumps like that there is actually a term for it. I looked it up because I wanted to understand why music did that to me too. It is called frisson. God this song makes me think of 2015, when I was a freshman in high school and I decided to revisit my old elementary school that was an hours drive away. There was a small little garden area tucked in front of the school that the kindergarteners took their pictures in, and I stood in front of it.
