Terrific!! There was nothing like this when I was at (the OLD) Juilliard on Claremont, 50+ years ago. I was studying Classical piano and the Jazz Dept. was just getting started. Occasionally, I'd walk by a classroom and I'd hear jazz coming out of it. IIRC, John Mehegan was teaching there, but I didn't really know who he was at the time. Wish I'd studied with him--it would have shortened my jazz learning-curve.

Years ago, Julliard did not want jazz taught for credit so Paul Jeffries from Monk's last band headed up a jazz club. They gave a concert that included Eddie Gomez and Steve Marcus (later to play for years with the Buddy Rich Band).

Fabulous! Not unexpected, considering where they came from! These players walk on water, can write their own ticket! Is that Carmen Intorre on drums? Yes! I was right!

Is it that much trouble to list the musicians! Thats the least they deserve after giving blood sweat and tears plus lots of tuition money to your school. Shame on you. Get it together!!!
