I have honestly only started watching women's basketball because of caitlin clark. And it's nice to see Juju is on fire as well. It'd be crazy if they meet this tournament This reminds me of ncaa mens basketball in the 80s and first half of the 90s where there were legit rivalries and stars stayed around long enough to leave their mark instead of treating college like a nuisance/pit stop holding them back from the NBA. Look at the animosity between LSU and SC. Now I don't like to see fighting/suspensions but it's great to see the bad blood between the teams. That doesn't exist in the nba. Everyone is mostly buddy buddy.

Usage rate is a measure of how many of a team's possessions you 'use' while on the floor. Only one player can shoot or handle the ball at any one time on a possession, so this is just a way to try and quantify that. You 'use' a possession when you either shoot, get an assist, or turn the ball over, and this is all calculated with different weights to get a usage percentage. It's a value-neutral statistic for the most part. If you're the best player on the team you should use the ball more, but just using the ball more doesn't make you a better player. Juju Watkins just takes virtually every shot she can when she's on the floor, Caitlin Clark is the better offensive player by a wide margin.

Shooting Splits: Clark - 47/40/85 Watkins - 41/34/85 Assist/TO Ratio: Clark - 7.1/4.8 Watkins - 3.4/4.0 Juju probably won't pass Clark's scoring record because of differences in efficiency. That being said, Juju's defensive stats are extremely strong. Highlighting her properly wouldn't be to say she will beat the scoring record, but to acknowledge her great scoring combined with superstar level defense. There's more to sports than the person who scores. Both are elite players.

I love JuJu I believe she is the best in WBB right now, she is a straight hooper. However, the one thing Caitlin had going for her is she plays for Iowa. They was able to recruit shooters around her but no real playmakers, so she has to score. After JuJu put USC on the Map, next year they will have the #1 recurring class coming in. So her usage rate will go down, so she will have to get more efficient, like Page Beckers, to take advantage of the opportunities she gets in order to break her records. With that said, if anyone can do it. JuJu can.

Maybe...but a lot can happen before her senior yr. She may not even stay her full 4 yrs and declare for the WNBA draft. Also, Caitlins freshman yr didnt have any post season play due to covid. So thats is 5 to 8 more games in conference tourney and NCAA tourney to add to her freshman total of 799 in regular season....which is higher in reg season that Jujus (751). As I said, a lot can happen in those 4 years. 1 injury and it doesnt happen most likely...or the draft and it also takes it off the table too. So premature to start giving her the record.
