disconcerting signals are actions by the defense that can result in a penalty for delay of game. These signals are considered to be an attempt to gain an unfair advantage by simulating the snap or causing the offense to false start. Examples of disconcerting signals include: Clapping, Yelling "hut" or "hike, and Moving in a way that simulates action at the snap

The deal on your move and they get penalized for it because the offensive line takes it as a misconstrued signal. The other thing that gets me is how they stated that it's at the referee's discretion on when they can call that particular penalty. Because later in the game the Tigers do it again and the penalty is false start on the offense. Same situation two different calls. That particular rule change is going to become a problem for everybody. You called it on one team at first half and then you called it on the other team in the second half. The situation was exactly the same. Wild

They missed a lot of calls but we shot ourself in the foot to much to be able to blame them but they did have a factor in the game bc that one hand catch could have been negated if they called the holding on the right tackle and the would have had a 3rd and 17 to convert and I don’t think he even had possession

The delay of game call for “disconcerting signals” is, in fact, a new rule this year. Not sure it’s gonna be called consistently because it’s up to ref discretion
