I was with you on the tackle jumping all the time until a couple of weeks ago when I saw a video from a different camera angle. On some of those plays, he actually isn't jumping the snap, it just looks like it because he's moving faster than the other players. He's got things timed out well enough that he's jumping on the exact second he expects the ball to move while everyone else is waiting to actually see the ball move before reacting. If you're down where the refs are, you can see on some of those plays the center's hands start moving the exact moment the tackle is. He's not getting it right all the time, and he's definitely jumping the gun on some of these no-calls, but it's a lot closer than it appears on TV where it looks like he's WAY early. On a lot of those plays, the timing is so close, you have to watch the video in slow motion to be sure, and the refs aren't likely to call that. I'm actually kind of surprised more players aren't trying this. Although I did see a play or two in this game where the Chargers right tackle appeared to jump but it wasn't called.
