Hi there, can you explain how to remove the finger guard on this machine as I'm finding its getting in the way of positioning some of my bart tacks? Thanks in advance.

Hi Ben. I don't remember exactly if the JUKI machines uses allen screws or regular screws, but in any case you will need really tiny tools...there is s screw on either side of the clamp plate where the finger guard pushes into...loosen these screws, yank the guard down, and tighten back the screws (just so they don't get lost). Like I said, you'll need a really tiny allen wrench or a really tiny flat head screwdriver (like the one used for eye glasses repair). It's the first thing I take off from new machines anyways - unless there's some OSHA requirement on the customer's side.

Hello David. Yes you can, but the machine in this video is one of the older models that has an EEP-ROM (or a chip) in the control box. You would have to draw up the pattern, burn the chip with that pattern, insert it into the slot in the control box and recall the pattern via the control panel on top. Not exactly easy but it can be done. The new models like the LK-1900BN-HS have a USB slot on their control panels, so you would still need to program the pattern, copy it to the USB and then download it to the control panel on the machine. Easier that the old model. In summary, yes, it can be done.
