I’ve wanted this serger for a very long time. I finally caught it on sale and ordered it and it arrived today. I have a great Brother serger I’ve had for years, but I hated changing thread colors because of threading the loopers. Not with this bad boy! I’m going to be using it a lot! And quiet! So much quieter than my old one. Thanks for the tutorial!

My MO1000 should arrive today. I ordered for the threading ease and it is supposed to be quiet. Viewing your video while I wait. You are an excellent teacher and wanted to thank you.

i bought this machine in Dec 2016 just for the auto threading. I love my Juki MO-1000. Now I can sew many more things without the headache of trying to thread the machine. What a wonderful breeze it is now. Thanks for you video, I love the visual learning.

VERY informative video. I've owned 2 previous sergers and it was me that always trembled at the thought of rethreading my machine. I sold both and now serger shopping. I love the ease of this machine. girl you don't have to explain buying something new just because. Life is to short. thanks again

omg thank you, i bought this machine before Christmas and I've never even looked at how to used one of these machines. so its been like 3 months in the box... I'm feeling bad cuz I don't even know how to thread the machine, let alone use it. I've been spending the day reading the manual and being frustrated and then thought, oh I can go on line, then I saw that you have a video!!! my friend, that makes everything easy even for me! omg Its threaded! now if it works, I will be so happy! lol

Well young lady! There is only one thing to be said about your tutorial . You have an amazing talent for training . I do not usually send out frilly praises but are very good and I thank you. I bought my Juki mo-1000 a year ago and put off using it because of the usual threading issues with other machines but you made it so easy so I thank you and look forward to some of your other tutprials

I've been an avid Juki lover for YEARS...owned many commercial ones with the motor and K-leg doing awnings, marine canvas and awnings/upholstery. You sold me on the quilting 600 model and now the 1000 serger....my question is: "does it do dishes and laundry too?"................................No? Oh darn.................LOL!

i just purchased one of these and was looking for someone on you tube to show me some helpful hints, and was i ever glad to see that YOU have one and ALREADY DID one for ME. and it looks so easy as I've never ever serged in my life. I've been doing zigzag copy cat all my life, trying to make my seams look as neat as possible as to not fray. Thank you so very much! i think everything i could possibly ever want to do with my serger you just did on this video ! I'm so glad i purchased this juki, as usual thank you to my bestest teacher for me. i was worried that perhaps because i am old, haha, probably much older then your grammie, and not a computer wiz, i do have apple stuff, and did work with computers so I'm not like duh, but I'm not like you youngins. you guys were playing with them in your cribs. Thanks again Crafty genius! you make everything so fun for me. Lorraine,

I own a Juki MO644-D. It cost only about $300-ish. You do have to thread the loopers yourself, but the diagram and color coding is clear, and there are several videos that explain it. It's a very good machine, just not quite as fancy as the 1000. The Juki manual is very well-written, and the Juki company has very good tutorial videos about how to do various stitches, such as rolled hems, and use of the many feet available for it. I think Juki used to make only industrial machines (they are a pretty old company in Japan, started not too long after WW2), but then they started making machines for the home. If you want a nicer machine but can't spend much, this is a good one to get.

+anointedhands I wrote that comment 7 months ago, and have since bought a Babylock with automatic threading of the loopers. If you can afford one, you don't need top of the line, they are all good. I suggest you find a video of how the Juki threads, and a video of how the Brother 1234D (the numbers might be wrong but you'll find it) threads, and then decide. Craftsy has a class by Amy Alan on basic serging, and she shows the Brother, too, as well as how to do several things on a serger. You'll be surprised at what you can do on a serger!!! Way more than just seams!!!

Gerrie Louden thank you for your swift response. I saw the brother, but the juki seemed better in quality. I'm taking a serger class in a few weeks. I was just nervous.

I don't blame you! At first when I got the machine home and looked inside it where you thread the loopers, I thought, "oh dear, what have I done?" But then I found several video tutorials, including from the Juki website, and things started to make sense, and I learned to thread it. You can do this:)

Hi! Thank you for your video! I own an MO735 and would never exchange it for this one, even though it has the automatic threader and it's a juki, and I'm sure the mechanic is very good. Though, the fabric cutter is attached at the bottom, any previous serger that I owned with this feature didn't work well on heavier material, and the blade wears out easily. Personally I would forget about the automatic threader, which saves you just a couple of minutes (Juki sergers are very easy to thread), and go for those other models which have the industrial cutting method (the cutter is attached to a lever at the side).

Lovely clear explanation, thank you so much. Do you have a video showing how to put away the thread stand down or away for travelling or storage? The plastic cover won't go over as is, and the telescopic loop thingy is very vulnerable to damage as it sticks up.

actually the thread air was originally made by babylock, they called it extraordinAIR threading...juki only has it now because bablocky sergers are made in japan by the juki industrial sewing macine company.

harplover1 it is a epic machine...no jams, no fiddling around with tensions..all u have to do is sew..the machine adjusts the tensions and every thing...honestly, it is one of the BEST investments i have ever done as far as a sewing machine/serger goes. on a side note no, it's not a brother nor are they owned by brother..they are actually owned by (i believe) the tacony company.babylock sergers are made in japan by the juki industrial sewing machine company
@Carol-Bell
@Carol-Bell 9 жыл бұрын
Bill Salvey I heard that Juki and Bernina are related... The Babylock and Brother are under Tacony, still owned by the same family that started the company, I think, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. Husqvarna, Pfaff, and Singer are all under the same company umbrella. All of the above machines are made outside the U.S., mostly in China and Japan.

Love all your videos. Could you please recommend a single needle regular sewing machine? I’ve had mine for almost 30yrs, it’s been a good one (kenmore), but it’s been giving me so much trouble. I’ve had it serviced, but still so many issues. It’s very frustrating to spend more time on sewing machine issues than a sewing project. I’ve been looking, but there are so many, it’s overwhelming, I highly trust your opinion. Thank you so much. ❤️

Hi there, Thanks for the great review! I've never owned a serger before, and I was watching your reviews of both the Juki and the Janome machines. I love the idea of the automatic threader on the Juki, but I also like the ease of changing settings on the Janome. You don't mention how to change settings on the Juki... How easy/difficult is it? As an experienced sewer new to serging, which machine would you recommend? Which is more important, ease of changing settings, or ease of threading? Also, how reliable are both machines for the long run? Thanks!

I've had a Babylock serger with air threading for years. I knew that the air threading patten was expiring and other manufacturers were going to start coming out with aur threading. My question is how does the Juki compare to Babylock in features such as differential feed and tension settings? With a Babylock tension settings are internal, no need to set. i had a Juki serger in the early 1980s and the tension settings drove me nuts. I know Juki is the industrial choice for sergers, wondering if yours is a viable chouce over my Babylock Evolve that is 6 years old.
