My sweet Dad. What a nice memory!

Your dad was one of the most gifted popular music composers of all time. His wealth of melody is astounding. I can't even imagine having the talent to write everything from bouncy songs like "Let It Snow" to driving anthems like "Don't Rain on My Parade" to rangy ballads like "Winter Was Warm" and "Being Good." (I even love the score to "The Dangerous Christmas of Little Red Riding Hood" and watch it on DVD every Christmas.) I hope that, up there, he somehow knows how much joy he still brings people, and will forever.

I am a HUGE fan of your father's work and have been my entire life...since childhood. Throughout my life there have been songs that will resonate with me, and I'm not certain who composed it. AND it's inevitably a song of your father's! I'm honored just knowing I can relay my deep appreciation and affection for your father's work. He was beyond brilliant. Thank you for entertaining my heartfelt gratitude for his songbook. I'm overwhelmed.

I was so lucky to be in a West End show that he composed in 1978 (Bar Mitzvah Boy.) Equally lucky to get to have a little chat with Feinstein whenever he appears in the UK.

It doesn't suck. Dump you. Anyone know the name of the new song he wrote near the end (20 minutes in) for Frank Sinatra sung by Jeffrey Osbourne? It's so typically Styne. Love it. And enjoyed seeing a young Michael Feinstein at the piano. I use to see him at the old CABARET disco on La Cienega appearing in the small piano room on Monday nights. He was about 19 years old with only 2 or 3 people standing around his piano. He was brilliant even back then. A really sweet guy. Thanks so much for posting.
