Egberto Gismonti "Palhaço" - Julie Malia (AKA Jule Malischke) arr. by Sergio Assad

I fell in love with this piece! When I heard "Palhaço" for the first time, it touched me deeply... Egberto Gismonti is a great composer and this arrangement of Sergio Assad is unique. I had no score for it, so thanks a lot to Stephan Bormann​ who helped me transcribing it!
In this video I play this piece at my master´s recital at the "Werkstätten Hellerau" (Dresden), so you might see why I am very nervous and concentrated. Thanks to www.konzerthelden.de (Jonas Golde​, Sebastian Lay​, Florian Simon​) for the video and Maarten van Guyse​ for my beloved guitar "Linda".

"Liebe auf das erste Ohr..."! Das Stück "Palhaço" hat es mir einfach angetan und es hat mich nach dem ersten Hören so tief berührt. Egberto Gismonti ist ein großartiger Komponist und dieses Arrangement von Sergio Assad ist einfach einmalig. Mein Problem war, dass ich keine Noten besaß und deshalb 1000 Dank an Stephan Bormann für die Hilfe bei der mühseligen Transkription!
Im Rahmen meines Masterabschlusskonzertes habe ich das Stück in den Werkstätten in Hellerau gespielt und wie ihr sehen könnt, etwas Nervosität und Anspannung spielte auch mit:-) Vielen Dank an die www.konzerthelden.de, insbesondere Jonas Golde, Sebastian Lay und Florian Simon für das gekonnte Einfangen dieser Momente und Maarten van Guyse für meine tolle Gitarre "Linda".

Jule ... Both interpretations are beautiful! 😍 But I liked this slow version, flows better ... Even your breath makes musical background lol. I remember listening to her with Badi Assad, but in my view you overcame! Doubt is the version that best defines the spirit and enchantment of this song by Egberto Gismonti. I have been a fan of Egberto Gismonti for more than 40 years, have been to many of his concerts, heard him play Palhaco many times live, know quite a few different versions of this on cd. With this background I say that Jule Malischkes Version is absolutely true to the spirit of the great Gismonti. I cannot remember any artist - other than Gismonti himself - who has played more authentic, more intimate, with more intensity.
