How to Wear Every Style of Boots

Tips on how to wear different styles of boots for different outfits. There are some easy style rules to help your boots style still look modern, and hopefully not overthink how you style them! You don’t need all boots in your wardrobe, but the more you know, the more fun you’ll have styling boots.

You cab still add a touch of trend to freshen it up. Like skinny jeans, if you have the figure, a cropped jacket would update them. Myself, shortwaisted, we could wear a loose long tank, satin skimming underneath the cropped jacket with skinny jeans

I am petite (14" calf circumference and 14" shaft height and skinny ankles). Proper fitting boots of any sort are so difficult to find. Most if not all are for bigger, taller calves and ankles.

I love these tips! While I don’t follow trends, I love to look more modern and updated. I like the idea of same color, pants and shirt into different color boots. I also like the idea that you said to balance the color of the boots on the top somewhere.

This is a helpful visual! I can always tell when something isn't working with my boots, but can't always articulate why or fix it, but I also think my brain is still stuck in my slouchy boot days from college 😂 My calves also like to get in the way of some boots, so finding the right height is a struggle, but I have a pair of chelsea boot heels that I'm feeling inspired to style now!

Thank you for this video. I found it super helpful. I have recently decluttered my closet and cleaned out what wasn’t working for me and what was to worn out. I have a thing for boots. I do like the otk boots, but as far as on me, I have yet to really feel comfortable and confident in them. So I actually ended up donating them. Honestly I don’t miss them that much. My favorite boots are my cowboy boots, I find that I wear those a lot. Your video helped me find even more ways to wear them, thank you for that. I also have dressy calf boots, that I don’t wear as often, but do like. Now, after watching your video. I feel like I will be able to better pair the, with pants and jeans I already own, that are also black.

Sorry, I'm trying to understand better and this might be a dumb question but how do I know, if I have a long or short torso, if I'm petite? I feel like for my body's proportions my torso is long...for example I think I look better with high waisted jeans but is that because of my torso or because my legs are super short? Also do I have to take into account only my proportions or also the average torso length? Because my torso is definitely shorter than the average person. For example whenever a dress is supposed to have some kind of sewn on belt it sits on my hips instead of at the waist like it does for my friends.

If you are petite, things for taller people are going to sit on the wrong places. I recommend looking for a video that gives advice about discovering your body type and ignore how clothes fit. Once you get that information, you can dress for your body type. I am 5'4" (163cm) and a lot of clothing, especially dresses fit me strangely because they are meant for people taller than me.

This is super helpful, but I must admit, I’m wondering… I got a pair of kind of tan knee-high boots this year. I live in the north where skinny jeans must stay in rotation for practicality and warmth. I’ve been wearing these with lighter skinny jeans … different color than the boots but low contrast. I won’t wear them with my dark jeans. I like them this way, but also I used to ride horses and like the equestrian look… am I somehow wrong? 😅 I haven’t found a pair of tan pants that would actually match the boots at this point.

I'm short and so NEVER will wear wide leg pants. Wore bell bottoms as a kid. So, done that been there. And, I will always tuck in my pants into my boots. Simply, because I like that look, and I need all the "leggyness" I can get. 🙂

Ankle boots have always looked like hooves to me TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I cannot STAND even looking at them on other people ! Knee-high boots for life. Have a collection of what I call ''dinner boots'' - high block heels but still reasonable and comfy. And ''walking boots'' or ''city boots'' - medium block heels and super comfy. ALSO, very important point, I buy a second pair every time I find something I can trust. Swear by it. Do it in the summer as well even more than I do it for boots. I have six pairs of my favorite Pepe Jeans Altea nude sandals with the straight straps. If I was a summer shoe.... I would be my Pepes. I also have multiples of my other problem-free summer sandals that look stunning but are also super trustworthy and never hurt me. When I find something I can trust , I marry it.
