This music was created for her voice- she is fast becoming my favorite singer! She has an quality to her singing that is from another time- maybe it's the lightness and purity of tone, perhaps her attention to making lines as legato as possible without compromising the accuracy of the pitch of individual notes in the fast runs, maybe it's just the joy she has when she sings. I have not heard a recent singer like her with so many colors in her voice, such musical accuracy, and who breaths new life into Rossini and Vivaldi (and also art songs) since Cecilia Bartoli came out in the 90's.

I'm in love with Lezhneva's voice, vocal technique, great artistry and execution. I know it is a bit unfair to compare singers, but she necessarily draws comparisons to Cecilia Bartoli without all the performance ticks and with much greater vocal clarity and coloratura. Lezhneva is actually natural and lovely in her stage presence, making this extraordinarily difficult music seem easy--a true feat at such a remarkably young fan. Looking forward to many years of enjoying this unique and outstanding artist.

She performs a lot of CB's repertorie too. I think it's a fair association. Nevertheless, Ms. L's voice has an even lighter quality that lends itself to more lyric/coloratura soprano pieces than CB's voice does. CB's developed a more dramtic quality wheras JL's voice is almost a true lyric soubretta and seems may stay that way. I am obscessed ❤️ with both singers.

I am also bothered by Bartoli's antics but Leshneva cannot compare. She is simply singing scales. There is no dramatic interpretation whatsoever. It's basically her warming up onstage. The music is written that way but she's boring.
