This unique singer is from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. This is a city on the very edge of Russia next to Japan. She did not even think of becoming a singer as a child. Her mom heard her singing in the shower and took her to a vocal teacher. And now we are enjoying her divine voice.

Certainly with the baroque composers I always think you can hear the bowing of the voice as a pure instrument.

Probably not, but the voices that are disposed to sing these you probably prefer. Opera houses have been putting heavier and heavier voices in post baroque roles for a while. I think it’s too much, not everyone has to sing with a Wagner size orchestra

Good word euphoric, and from singing. My mom was a huge Opera lover, my dad so-so. I like Pavarotti good introduction. Julia's voice simply floats. Very appealing. I still like McCartney, Lennon and Mick Jagger from mid 60's to early 80's. Two very different takes on voices. This woman floats beautiful beautiful beautiful.
