ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns as Queen of Country Reba McEntire claims her red chair alongside last season's champ, Niall Horan, and returning superstar coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as they vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon.
The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.
Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

I have never commented on one of these. I think both singers did great, but it was shocking for Olivia to not get the nod here. She’s doing stuff that is really difficult for even seasoned singers to do, impressive nuanced interval leaps. Kind of got a raw deal.

Julia being only 13 is insane, her stage presence and control of her voice is absolutely impressive, she improved a lot from her blind audition, you can see she's gotten more confident (just like Gina last season I feel like Niall really is the best coach for young artists that need a little confidence boost). Olivia's tone is really unique and soothing, but she sounded a little out of pitch a few times during the battle (probably because of nerves, which would make perfect sense), still I'm sure she has a great career ahead of her!

Both sang beautifully but there's something about Olivia's warm, husky tone I love esp in her lower register. Julia's voice was nice but off pitch at times. Her stage presence was better than Olivia's though.

I had the pleasure to meet Julia for the first time when she was just a baby. I've known her parents for a long time. I'm so happy for her and proud of all she has accomplished. I don’t agree! I think Julia is great in her own and advanced vocalist for her age however, I’m sorry, there is something so unique and distinct about Olivia’s tone that I don’t think anyone can match. She has like a Maisie peters type of tone, but then she has these breaks and yodels that are naturally in her voice that just hit you right in the soul. I don’t think Julian can really do what Olivia does and vice versa. I think Olivia won based on the control of her voice, but there’s no denying Julia’s unique voice. That’s a voice I would listen to on my own personal playlist!! I can’t wait for her music!
