Currently, I believe that Alaphillippe and Wout van Aert are the only riders that can win all 5 Monuments. They already won Milano - San Remo. La Doyenne, Flanders and Il Lombardia are within their reach. Roubaix is tougher for a puncheur but if Gilbert could win it, then that would be something special.
@ryanphelan68613 жыл бұрын
Great topic two amazing riders who both already won MSR so great place to start : ), where wva struggles in these races, as good as he is, can't see him holding the wheels on harder climbs like in lombardia the way it's raced especially on jumbo. This worlds was like liege ou la doyenne and BP combined. He needs some flat where he can ride all day, too much flat like Roubaix is where lulu suffers, it was down to 4-5 bike lengths during flat portion of finale but as soon as started rolling he pushed it out, so I love both riders I see exactly what you're saying and you could certainly be right. I honestly think a guy like pidcock u23 Roubaix winner has great chance cause Roubaix to liege and lombardia are the extremes and he has already shown he can race all those and sprint from selection. Gilbert it's a shame never won MSR that's who lulu reminds me of so much but able to punch that hard from an even lighter weight remember him losing to valverde in old liege route sprint finish at 22 and never stopped entertaining since. I thought pogacar was another with sprint to win MSR from select sprint but pancake flat all day Roubaix is looking more and more way beyond him especially windy even if he grows, although love his chances at lombardia to win alone or select sprint. If they change finishing climbs again maybe wva could stick around but these races are showing depth of generation. Put pidcock on quickstep he might do it in one year lol I just like his "je ne sais pais" that instinct like lulu to know when to go or to go over and over. Shame Alla crashed at Flanders he forced that final selection looked so good but this generation, because of cyclocross I think, has guys competing way above old weight classes but as long as Roubaix is flat and chance of wind or rain it should belong to the diesel engines. Was never thought Gilbert could win nevermind Julian that's where wind and weight matter Van summer an was 6'6 boonen 6'4, Fabian museeuw all made peter look tiny. Love to see stybar win it 2013 he was amazing in his first try. Enjoy the race!

I would like to see Alaph win the 5, but honestly, he is already 29. No time to waste if he want succeed in the 4 others. Liege is possible, Flanders too, but I'm not sure for Lombardia and roubaix...

… Ice in my veins I've been driving this train Years in this lane There's no stopping this flame 'Cause I came to the game and I changed it to play how I like Rearranged it to my own domain Yeah, I got what it takes Made lots of mistakes Taking' shots skipping' breaks Feeling lost, feeling' great Popping' off singing straight Never stopped, never changed All the squad here to play And I've got something to say, yeah … I work hard each and every day I get lost in the words I say I don't push pause, no, I push play I won't stop 'till I make a change I withdraw on the things I make I turn flaws into flawless traits I build tall, never capping space I won't stop 'till I hear 'em say … Oh ooh La-da-la-da-da-da-da La-da-la-da-da-da-da Oh oooh woah Oh ooh La-da-la-da-da-da-da La-da-la-da-da-da-da Oh ooh woah … 6am and I'm up again I got tired eyes need a cup of blend That's right In the AM that's my only friend No light, just the sun coming up on the horizon I lose track of time I move fast and climb A new class of divine Yeah, a true passion shines And I'm through passing time I choose stacking dimes You snooze half the time While I move passing' bye … I work hard each and every day I get lost in the words I say I don't push pause, no, I push play I won't stop till I make a change I withdraw on the things I make I turn flaws into flawless traits I build tall, never capping space I won't stop till I hear 'em say

I know the machines are different and I rode a metal bike with downtube shifters a "centurion" : )when I was younger....but this generation especially Julian could make a living just doing tricks such are his skills and coordination on that machine it's remarkable watching him descend. In tour before they band super tuck was a treat ill never forget took lines...just brilliant and nibali could descend lombardia and MSR couple times never forget he bunny hopped a puddle to keep wheels dry at speed before a corner. Nibali was like the link to this almost silly skill level on bike Sagan kind of making it mainstream. Cross influence and carbon fiber has to help a lot but just so much time on the machine and so much training the young talents are blessed to get and put in. Cause a 500cc dirt bike isn't light tricks a plenty. What a generation the way they ride so much of the schedule and it's coverage is such a treat. Very lucky what race that was je ne sais pas.... chapeau Lulu. Great videos btw, pogacar,Julian hopefully ayuso guys that don't just ride they race👌

Those Flemish fans telling Alaphilippe to slow down ...
@lp77563 жыл бұрын
Très belle video. Merci.
