Fried is right up there, one of my all time favourites, I can put it on at any time and it takes me back to those heady days of the 80's, I appreciate them so much, this track reminds me of travelling around Europe and listening on a walkman as a teenager. Give anything for that time again.
@rushshukla46363 жыл бұрын
One of life's biggest mysteries is why Fried didn't sell. It's the best album ever made and his most profound musical statement. If there's only one album of his you must own it's Fried.

What I kind of love, is the 1st Julian Cope album I bought was 20 mothers at a used CD shop. Almost every album of his I own I got at a used album shop. I have most of them. Love him. I was born in 84' so I found him later on.

As a 53 year old Brit, I've got to say: back in the day, this was NEVER viewed as Psychedelia. This was Post Punk whimsy. Cope's fans in that era understood it as such.

@copeyattamsworth Nah mate, it was filmed on his home turf at the time, just outside Tamworth. It is on the site of the old Pooley Colliery, now a nature reserve with the pools you see created by subsidence and woods of silver birch trees have sprung up all around and now most of the way up the big mound since this was filmed. You can also see the M42 being built and the train in the vid is running north on the west coast main line towards Tamworth. Looks quite different these days! :o)

Ta. I have to rely on my brother's knack of internet downloading to track down Cope's stuff. Twenty five years ago, I'd listen to Cope quietly last thing at night. Everyone in my suburban household were in their beds. So you can see how these songs impacted on me.

There is a completely different version of "Search Party" to be found on the CD Zoology. It's the original; different lyrics and over dub bass. It's called "Richie Blofeld." It's basic on a tape recorder circa 1978.

What can u say about this song and the album? Listening to my big brothers Fried LP one summer and gazing at the back cover with the smoke rising from the horizon was a strange awakening for me. Remember seeing Julian on newsnight or culture show circa Peggy Suicide saying there is no bass on this track because they forgot to do bass for it. :)

'Fried' has always been in my top ten albums, but it's an album you can only ever get away with recording once. Had the next album been like this it would have tainted 'Fried' as it is not what you could call original. Never would get released now, so thank the 1980's!!!

neoconvers ** words I am unsure of in asterisks** Hope this is correct : ) The wind it plays upon your hair A vision of the glorious sea The wind that follows down from there Incarcerates the sea The waking hours are the loneliest ones For the sinister boys like me Travelling east, straight **line** through the past I'm happy in morality Oh no don't cast me out of here ( repeat) Oh no don't cast me out I said No I got no place to go The King and Queen of my estates My Real Estates are real The King and Queen have offered me The estate of **Robert Peel** Is it talent you need Like the talent you see Like the talent clear for me And the sign that says ** In ** the carpet **made** Like a carpet I rolled away Oh no don't cast me out of here ( repeat) Oh no don't cast me out I said No I got no place to go The wind it plays upon your hair So ever so gloriously So be content With the apples spent On the William Tell **on/ of** me As the faces they bleed Watch them dull and recede Won't you help to keep my spirit clear Stay a week and a day And never go away Be forever in my presence dear Chorus

@stevefm9 жыл бұрын
+Tony Mack Yes it's an open A7, then slide everything up to the 5th fret then up to the 7th where you bend your 3rd finger. Chorus is open D, then same up 4 frets, then Dm up 2 frets then D up 1 fret.
