From a listing of the K-300 glue. Set Time(s) = 10s/4mW/cm²UVA and Cure Time(s) = 180s/4mW/cm²UVA

Curing the UV glue is also influenced by the wavelength. Many of the UV torches are closer to 400nm ao rather more deep violet than ultra violet. Around 360nm works faster, even shorter is better still. The exposure time to cure the glue will be sugnifucantly longer for the long wavelengths. I found closer to 3 to 5 min for good curing. Intensity is less effective than shorter wavelengths!
@samesdee46554 жыл бұрын
Very helpful info! Been looking for quite some time to locate what wavelengths of UV are most effective/efficient at curing. Seems as though the manufactures of UV glue would publish the wavelength that is best for their particular formulation. Thank you Helmuth!

I have read that distance from the glue also plays a big part. Recommended 3-5mm from the glue.

@Ghlargh4 жыл бұрын
Usually the UV adhesive you get in those large bottles is for joining a cellphone front glass to the touch sensor. It won't surface harden which means it will be sticky, it also won't go completely rock hard. What you want is UV cured "No wipe top coat" for nail art. That stuff hardens fully and leaves a dry surface. That said, all the ads that show people joining things like two screws end to end or repairing eyeglass frames are basically scams. UV adhesive is good for covering sensitive things (SMD LEDs on a PCB people are supposed to touch for example) or joining large transparent surfaces together (screen and touch sensor as above).

10:53 Noooooo! Bad idea only putting a small hole in the seal. Now when it starts to get close to empty you will have to have it perfectly level and it will be more likely to spit out as you squeeze the bottle. Removing the complete seal allows the bottle to be at an angle and allows better flow. Think about it. And if you ever want to put the flat cap back on you'll get glue all over the place as there will still be glue in the funnel. Next time just cut it with your snap blade knife on the inside edge.

Let me know if you solve the K300 problem. I bought 2 bottles in 2019 (after seeing you glue your pcb's). No matter how much UV light I shine at it, it never gets solid. Even tried several frequencies and intensities of UV (sunlight of course as well). Shaking the bottle did not help either. I now have two of those bottles laying in my drawer. Getting old. So please find out how to use it as 'glue' because currently it is just a sticky liquid. Note: my real intention was to glue solar panels from Ali, to make them more rigid (those very thin ones, you know them? Just micrometers thick). But the glue never dried, so that was the end of a failed project.

I set mine with a 50 led 240v lamp - I've been using what looks like similar stuff. First time I used it I thought it was rubbish. My usual glue comes in 10ml bottles and only takes a couple of seconds to cure, this new potion wouldn't set = After a bit of playing I found it takes considerably longer but to be fair sets much harder/stronger and without the sticky residue but we're talking 5+ minutes. Longer to be safe.
@tomgeorge37264 жыл бұрын
The R010 resistor looks like a SMD version of a ceramic power resistor. If your cells are in series, will you be able to connect all the I2C comms together? You may need a I2C isolator. How will you power them, is gnd on the output terminal strip connected to gnd on the battery measurement side? You need to draw a schematic and check your potential difference logic. The UV glue, because you are trying to use it like a filler, may need more time to penetrate. The pens dispense a thinner/less viscous liquid.

Thinking that if you only care about current, connect the grounds together. then the I2C will all be at the same 0V so should be ok. As long as the battery voltage does not exceed 36V it might work. might work, might let out some magic smoke. But thats where the fun is.

The UV glue should not really be used as a glue, it's more like an epoxy. You would use it to cover things, say as an insulator or conformal coating, or else create things, like trinkets, by using it with a mold. As a glue it really is weak as you found out. It also often needs to be cleaned on the outside with IPA and then left in the sun for a few hours to fully cure. But for what it does, and how it does it, it really can be quite convenient and useful.

BC182L were a favourite of one of the contributors to the magazine that the Vocoder was published in. A lot of projects by the same author used them. Any suitable general purpose small signal NPN transistor can be used to replace them in most designs as long as you take account of the lead-out. And keep in mind that the same transistor was/is available without the L suffix but it has a different lead-out.

4 жыл бұрын
@DIY Projects yes, the IC can be configured to 16 different addresses, but as I wrote before this board can only have 4 of the 16 without cutting some traces (or removing some resistors) On this board, the A0 and A1 pins have 10k pulldown resistors. If A0/A1 are connected to Vcc, the pulldown resistors do nothing more than wasting a bit of power. However if A0/A1 are connected to SDA/SCL the pulldown resistors interfere with the pullup resistors of the I2C bus. That is why this board can only have 4 different addresses without cutting the pulldown traces or removing the pulldown resistors.
