same experience. I bought one of these packages myself so I could do some farting about projects and for a decade resistance box for when I am breadboarding I do not have to fool around with having to find some resistor for testing purposes. I love the price but definitely read the values and take some measurements before using. when I received mine I did receive a few doubles but a few values missing after re-labeling some due to incorrect values being printed or stamped on certain bandoliers. Though these assortments usually do cover the EIA values for 1% values as I sat down wondering how I was going to sort these resistors for storage and ease of finding what in the heck value I want. They did not just give you the dross- it is normal in the higher ranges especially with lower tolerence value capacitors that they usually go for a resistance value in the middle of the spread so it does look like values are cherry picked. good explantion of the values included www.resistorguide.com/resistor-values/ Also still need to sit down and create what I would like to call a cheap thumbwheel switch decade resistance box which is what I originally purchased this assortment pack for. Though debating wheither I should buy surface mount or through- hole components for when I build my decade resistance box.

I wouldn't even begin to worry about backfeeding those B3603 modules until you remove the input voltage. Having said that, I've backfed them even without input voltage with no adverse effects. The only reason I would consider it a problem was because it completely backfed and drained the supercaps I had on the output by powering the module. Module worked normally after I installed a schottky on the output, no (apparent) harm done.

Eh, Julian, I just look for the offers with the highest n for "n values m pcs metal resistors". Found a 135-value one, and in comparison with other offers (120 values, 130 values, 134 values, etc) they all only differ in very few obscure values in randomly selected powers of 10, like 8.4 ohms or something like that, and about getting one bag of each, I think I'm settled for life as far as selection goes. I don't think I'll ever have an application that necessitates deciding for a 1.1-ohm over a 1.2-ohm through-hole resistor, but alas, I have them now. Assortments are just too attractive to not have.

@JulianIlett7 жыл бұрын
It seems the transparent ones are slide only - the white ones are slide or snap :)
@PaulJosephdeWerk7 жыл бұрын
All my white ones are slide lock. Just because the white plastic is more forgiving to snapping apart/together doesn't mean that is the proper mating method. If you look carefully, the male portion is a trapezoid, and snapping them will eventually wear away the points that hold it to the female side.
@JulianIlett7 жыл бұрын
The 400 point breadboards have a cylindrical locking pin - a little more forgiving than the 800 point dovetails. Regardless, I like to use a variety of different mating methods ;)
