It would look awesome in ebony and aluminum as well.

Hey Julian. Enjoyed watching you make this - love your file-grinder-file-grinder method of flattening, it reminds me of scraping... The tamper looks amazing too. Came to your channel from SWDweeb, and am working my way through. Looking forward to updates on your lathe and excavator :) I have an old jcb backhoe that needs a lot of pins and bushes doing so keen to see your process. Thanks again, Peace, Bongo.

Awesome job Julian! I still think you should make up a set of chess pieces this size (even just one of each of the six types) because I think they would look beautiful but no matter what this one is gorgeous and you should be proud!

Beautiful job! Now you have to make Her Indoors one for her birthday, with her name or a pattern on the bottom, so when she Tampa her coffee down, it'll impress the image into it :-D Actually, there's a side job for you. Individualized tampers for coffee shops! Seriously, though, it's a work of art as it stands. Well done mate.

Watched this while having my morning coffee... at 1:30PM 😋 ☕👍 Absolutely brilliant work!!! I love the shine I get on some of the brass pieces I made, I want to try different bronze alloys soon. Do you make the bronze yourself? and if so what % of metals do you use? Cheers! 👍👊
@JulianMakes5 жыл бұрын
Ralph Mourik cheers mate! No I don’t usually make my alloys but I will be soon. I have some bell bronze/cannon bronze to make next :) this is AB3 a special silicon aluminium bronze, the military uses it for submarine secret things due to its lack of magnetic something or other! It also looks lovely!

B-e-utiful... I haven't worked through enough of your videos to figure out your bronze source yet, are you brewing your own or buying it? If buying, where from as melting down old kitchen taps gives me a headache.

Rotometals for the Copper, and Tin. Cheapest source I could find for high purity base metals. just my suggestion

Looks wicked mate, I can see a lot of work went into that. Not easy sanding and polishing a cylinder... 👍. I noticed you using those Dremel sanding sponges, I bought some of those.... how long did yours last ? None of mine lasted longer than 20 seconds, I gave up... haha. Best wishes Andy 😜
@JulianMakes5 жыл бұрын
cheers mate, yeah loads of time sanding and polishing this one :) i got a bargain basement bag of the sponges they were brown and green and something else, off amazon. They lasted ok for me. i use the brown polishing compound, i recon i only used 2 brown ones on this. (tbh i only used the rotary tool for 20mins)

Beautiful Julian, I'm still using my 3D printed Tamp. I noticed while making a bronze trophy that grinding disks for Aluminum work very nicely, what are you using?
@JulianMakes5 жыл бұрын
Blaine Bolze thanks mate, I’m not sure what grinding disc it is I’ll have to look, it’s probably a general any metal one
