To be honest, it’s because Christmas (if celebrated right) is very much a kid friendly holiday. The decorations, the endless sugar intake, the carefree nature of it all, etc. It’s kid friendly & has the power to revive the child in all of us for a period. Hence, a lot of the family films & specials are the best. I do like a handful of the adult ones (such as Christmas Vacation & Love Actually), but the vast majority of them are very cynical & awful. (Scrooged, Bad Mom’s Christmas, Merry Friggin’ Christmas… I could go on & on.)

In my family im snow miser. Cold doesnt phase me. I was in -2 and didn't shiver. I felt like I was in paradise. I have this weird thing where my feet MUST be freezing cold. if they get too warm I feel uncomfortable. But once they get cold I feel less stressed and can sit in a chair properly. I can't stand temperatures over 70. I hang out in the cold so much any heat will get me too hot and sweating quickly so when I go on vacation with the family every year the heat of florida is KILLER to me. I sweat the most and go through the most stress. Fall and winter are my favorite times of the year. Not just because its cold but I love the holidays (halloween and christmas) just the feel in the air seeing all the decorations. But the colder temperatures feel so good to me. It could be 20 and I feel like I could just take off my shirt and feel great. My family wear jackets and coats but I usually dont wear jackets in the fall cause the cold feels so good and jackets just dont do it for me. I'll wear a coat in the winter but any heat will get me to take it off. I only wear it in the car cause the cold leather is what bothers me. I'm ok with cold temperature but if im touched by something cold it hurts me. If I go in cold water and it's TOO cold my spine feels like there's needles stabbing it and it can hurt. Cold leather on bare skin is unpleasant. Which makes no sense. I wont shiver in cold air but if im touched by something ice cold it bothers me. But I LOVE the cold. I rather be freezing cold than hot any day. Freezing is more tolerable than heat by comparison. My mother always told me I was always a furnace. She told me when I was a baby if I ever got too warm I threw up and I just build heat unusually quick. I feel warm too often. Best way to explain is I can just feel heat generating off my body alot and my skin always feels warm. I feel hotter than normal. WHile my family can relax in a room that's 70 which is average heat, its not unbearably hot but not cold enough to be uncomfortable. But for me the heat builds. I could feel the heat under my shirt. In the summer im usually shirtless cause its the only way to cool off. If a shirt is on I can feel my shirt getting warm and when it goes off I just feel the heat go off. When im cold the heat stops. Problem is I get used too the cold too easily. My sister shivers in the room im in but it feels like 68 to me. So as the temperature drops I get used to it unusually fast to the point the room feels like 69 or higher to me while everyone has blankets and is shivering. Which is a downside cause the summer gets hot here so my body isnt used to it and I get hot alot faster than normal. I cant bare the heat. It disgusts me. Like Snow miser I dont want to know a day over 40 degree's. When I hear its gonna be 79 or something its just yuck....ill be in the coldest room in the house if anyone needs me. Hell even the freezer in my garage doesnt bother me and there are times im so hot im tempted to sit inside it for a while just to lower my body's temperature so I can relax. Heat sucks the energy out of me to the point I can almost barely bring myself to stand. Once I get cold I dont feel so weak and its like it never happened. I never understood why I was like this. I had this issue since I was a baby. Heat just isn't for me and I get hot way too easily. As far as I know its a medical condition. I dont think it's normal for a human to get so hot so easily. But the cold feels good so I guess I can't complain. As for my sister, she was always my opposite and it applies to temperature preferences too. Like how I am with the cold she's the same with the heat. She doesnt mind warm temperature while I can't stand it for a second. When she goes into my room where I keep it cold she shivers IMMEDIATELY and im like "it feels like 69 to me" while my sister just shivers like crazy and needs to wrap herself up in a blanket or two. Whenever I get company I have to turn off the AC which I hate. Do you have any idea how long it takes to bring the room temperature down to the point i'm comfortable with? the room warms up way too fast once the ac machine goes off. My sister is the heat miser of the family. While she doesnt want it to be 80 degree's or higher she still has better tolerance compared to me. Unlike me she's normal when it comes to temperature. But unlike me she gets cold very easily and will start shaking if its like bellow 67 or something. I'm happy and in a good mood when im in the cold she cant stand it. So when we have to make it warmer the attitude switches. She feels better but I feel very uncomfortable cause like I said I build heat too quickly. So it feels hotter to me compared to everyone else. Once I get hot im drenched in sweat while my sister is enjoying it. I still wonder why I function this way. I dont think it's normal for a human being to be a living FURNACE. I shouldnt have to make the room into a freezer just to stop feeling so warm. As soon as the cold air is gone I can just feel the temperature rise on my skin and under my shirt and I hate it. Heat makes me restless, I just keep moving and try to find somewhere cooler. But if I get too hot I just cant move. I become super lazy and ridiculously low on energy. I struggle to move an inch, can barely lift myself to sit up on a couch. As soon as I get cold I get a second wind and I feel full of energy. Heck, cold air even helps with anxiety. If I get extremely anxious I get super hot for some reason. But I noticed if im having anxiety or on the verge or having a panic attack or just stressed out, if I have a fan blowing air on me I feel super relaxed. Again cold is beneficial to me and I have zero clue why. It feels unnatural. But that's what makes me the snow miser of my family. Im not phased by the cold at all.
