I'm in some sort of end of junior year college binge. I do know that when I go I'm going to remember a bottle of peroxide for any accidental blood stains. That's what just occurred to me. The college I'm hoping on going to requires us to stay on campus our first year except for certain cases. So peroxide is a must for me you just never know.

For fresh period blood stains specifically, i know using a rag with cold water. Push the rag into the stain and let the water soak into the stain, once it soaks for a minute or two, carefully rub the stain until its gone.
