i love how both of these guys had such huge egos, but at the end of the day, the thing they'd be best known for is "shake it"

Speaking of different kind of topics, what if you did a video on Alternative Press? The start of it, the controversies, it’s influence, etc. (anyone remember that podcast? I think I still have William Beckett’s episode downloaded somewhere 😂). I think it would be really cool to examine AP’s influence on the music scene over the years. Half the bands I was into I only knew about because I had an AP subscription lmao

I’m like 13 minutes in, but yeah Ashland High had this super cringe video for a song called sipping on sunshine and me and my best friend used to send it to each other periodically for laughs because it was so freaking cringe. I tried to find it a few months ago and I couldn’t so I don’t know if it was taken down or what. 😂

I think trace took forgranted how hard it is to have a true billboard million seller hit so many factors go with it seriously none of the bug bands from those times can make hits these days when it comes to gaga being unique sure it helped her got her the attention she needed but after that there has to be some apeel to from the music there is certain crowds they appeal too what i find crazy is i honestly think he had a chance to appeal to 14 year olds the most important he needed a song witer and he did have a chance

the only thing id want to say is just because theres 4 songwriters listed doesnt mean they all wrote it. In my band, our singer actually physically wrote all the melodies and lyrics but because we were a band we split our publishing 4 ways. I believe Mason actually did write shake it, just didnt take all the publishing for himself

Holy shit idk how I forgot, but when I saw them at warped tour and went to their tent to take a picture trace said right before “hey nice to meet you, wanna buy a shirt or something?” And like I felt pressured lmao I’m all young af and broke and only had like $20 in my pocket which was how much the tank top was. Lol anyways

Hey dude, sorry to barge in with this request and I know this is you mostly talk about bands you were in tune to in your youth but the next time you make a vid no matter how long that is can you make a video about Simple Plan? Mason was literally the talent in Metro station. Great Singer, great guitar player, great songwriter. Trace was literally none of those things. Trace would play the most basic power chords over the chorus only... He could barely play, couldn't sing to save his life, and wrote trash.

I agree that his early stuff was just terrible❤…buuuutttttt I came across his newer song “pray at night) I hit play instead of myself oh Christ what is this kid up to next? Thinking it was going to be terrible but I was unbelievably surprised I thought that song was catchy ,Insightful and overall he nailed it I didn’t think he had it in him so my opinion of him has changed❤Maybe he just needed time to work on himself and gain experience in the music industry and try a little of everything well I must admit this song that he put out his damn good❤.. he continues to evolve it’s surprising to see what The outcome is❤.
