After many of you suggested FFX when I became obsessed with FF7R and FF16, it's finally time!!! I'm really looking forward to this playthrough and am already loving the music, characters, gameplay, vibes, everything. This is my first ever turn based rpg, so I'm a little nervous but I think I'm doing well and enjoying it so far! Thanks so much for joining me! It all begins here...

I'm so glad you're playing this. It's one of my favourite games. It's very sentimental to me. I played this on back in 2004, just after my mom died suddenly, me, my brother and sister used to watch the bonus DVD that played the song Suteki da ne on repeat. So now, when I replay it, it always reminds me of that time in my life... This game is truly special and I really hope you enjoy it, even just a fraction of what I do.

I can relate to this. In my case it was my Dad in 2003. It was Final Fantasy VIII for me though as that's the last game he bought me for Christmas. There's nothing quite like a chance at going back to those moments from so long ago, even if only briefly.

This is what I keep trying to stress to people who keep saying they are fans of FF but nitpick at things they don't like or find annoying. If you claim to be a fan of FF, then that means you love all the games for what they are. You can only say you like certain FF games if you just choose those ones.

Recently discovered this channel and I absolutely love it! Been playing FF all my life and always love to see people discovering how amazing it is for themselves. I'd honestly consider FFX to be the best to gateway game to the franchise, it's just so so so special and has aged remarkably well being 20+ years old at the this point. I've genuinely lost count how many times I've played this game it's like slipping into an old jacket you've been wearing for years, it just feels right.

NO SPOILERS: WAIT NO WAY. Kasta and now you??? I just watched this game on her channel and im gonna watch yours now haha. Love this game. Looking forward to this!! Enjoy the game. Extremely emotional. (Not you using a tissue before anything even happens) 😂 One of my childhood favorites next to Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. I would maybe just be aware of things that can get locked out as you play through the game. Many permanently missable things that you will need for the side content / endgame grind if you want to complete most of the content in the game. Would suggest putting the video feed in the top left so we can see the turn order :) Good luck. You will love this game.

I've literally been playing this game 20 years and pride myself in going back and talking to everybody multiple times and getting dialogue most people miss. You got dialogue I've never seen moments after entering your name. I'm literally so hyped for this 😂 awesome.

Tidus is derived from the Okinawan language where "tiida" means "Sun". That's why the original is pronounced Teedus.

I love this game so much. It really was magical playing this on ps2 for the first time. Final fantasy always seemed technically advanced in its graphics over other games at the time. this one being the first final where the characters had actually faces and exressions and dialogue. VERY VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND making sure that every character takes at least one turn in every battle- even if all they do is guard for one turn and get changed out. This way they all get the ap (xp). Ap is not divided among the members that took a turn, instead everyone who takes a turn in the battle gets the full ap for it.

Just guarding for a turn isn't enough. The character has to _perform a successful action._ You have to be careful about attacking, because most characters can one-shot most standard encounter creatures, so if you have 3 fiends and five characters, you have to TRY to do non-damaging things until everyone's had their turn. Maybe kill one critter out of a pack. I like to use the otherwise relatively useless buff skills like Aim or Focus to accomplish this. Or something semi-useful like Pray.

@xheralt this is not so. Guarding does count as a move for ap purposes. If you have the game, try it out. I've played this game countless times and still do. Yes, aim/focus ect work too and are shorter recovery turns, but same for guarding.

@@xheralt Guarding (with the triangle button) 100% DOES give a character AP. Why on earth would you think it doesn't? Frankly, it's not only possible to do it that way, but frequently it is optimally efficient to defend, as defending is one of the fastest actions in the game, making the "everyone needs 1 turn" strategy significantly less time consuming to perform in the long run. (and to be sure, making sure everyone takes a turn every fight IS a faster method of leveling than the alternative.)

I wasn't aware that some call him Tie-dus (sounds a bit like "tight@ss" to me ^.^) until about a decade later. I heard the correct prounciation in a trailer before it released, and then in Kingdom Hearts. It means "sun" in a Japanese dialect, and Yuuna means "moon". It represents their relationships in some ways. The sun sets when the moon comes up and vice versa.

Cheer raises the active party's strength and defense by 1 point for the battle. Cheer can be used 5 times during before it stops working. If you charge the active party, the replacement chars can still be cheered.

I'm looking forward to this so much! Final Fantasy X was my very first JRPG and it got me into the genre as a kid so it holds a very special place in my heart. It's a shame you couldn't get the OG, the facial animations are so much better and the remaster really muddled some of the faces.

In FF X they'll be a lot more important conversation here that connect the dot that make senses to the story always talk with npc until it stuck repeated line.

Okay, here's something you are liable to really appreciate that most people don't. This game takes place in a big world, and major events actually have huge changes on the people throughout Spira. Whenever something big happens, starting shortly after the first blitzball tournament, you're able to backtrack through the entire world and talk to all the npcs again, and the things they have to say, and sometimes their apparent entire belief systems, will be different as a result of world events. 99 percent of people don't know this, or if they do, they never engage with it, because backtracking (particularly with random encounters) can be rather tedious. But if you're as in love with the world and story as you seem, I think you'd find it worth it. This is a game you can beat in 30 hours but not see all the content after 300. I hope you take your time and breathe it all in. I'm very excited for this series

Crying to the prelude is way too relatable. That and the Final Fantasy Main Theme wrecks me all the time lol. FFX is a masterpiece, I really hope you enjoy it! It's a hell of a time investment, but if down the line you find the time, Final Fantasy XIV A Real Reborn through Endwalker is on par or above some of the single player stories. FFVII was my favorite final fantasy story before finishing Endwalker. It is an incredible journey.

If you plan to 100% the game, in all honesty, reload a save and do the temple cloister again. There are hidden items needed for later that are optional. I would recommend trying the Cloister of trials but if you dont get the item, lookup the solution

Using the item DID take Rikku's turn, but because of her high Agility, and fortunate for you, she had a second consecutive action queued up. That's why paying attention to the turn order listing on the right side of the screen is important (sometimes even crucial).

Was looking to see if the destruction sphere in the Besaid Cloister of Trials would be missed or not. I personally like the extra content the HD remaster added to the PS2 NTCS version, but that extra content really punishes first time playthroughs if you miss certain things; this destruction sphere being one. It won't affect playing through the main story, but it puts a major barrier in 4 side quests should you be interested in doing them.

Fun fact: the opera song you can hear in the background after completing the cloister of trials is sung by the aeon itself. So depending on the pitch of the singer, you can tell whether the aeon is male or female. Valefor is female.
