To answer your question, no Anil is not Pin's aunt, not genetically speaking anyway. But since Princess Patt was raised as a sister to Anil's father, they are kind of related but not by blood.

Wronggg, aunt Pad and Anil are distant cousins 😂, Anils grandfather and Pins great grandfather were distant cousins that’s why Anils grandma raised aunt Pad, because of the family connection. It’s on the family tree from the book.

And it's so refreshing to know we have the same thoughts about Pin's feelings. Coz ive watched a few reaction videos from other creators, and they seem to forget that the setting of the series is in the early to late 1950s Thailand! Where it wasn't seen as normal to have feelings for the same sex everywhere in the world. And TLP's setting is not just in Asia but a very traditional one at that coz of the social status attached to the characters who are basically all royalty/titled. Which the society has high respect for therefore, the expectations is much more high than of the expectations to commoners. Considering those factors, we must understand why Lady Pin is hella confused and bothered. She was raised in a strict and traditional way by Princess Pad. She grew up following rules and traditions. So imagine how confusing and horrible she must have felt having all these feelings for Anin and all of Anin's "liberal" views, thoughts and feelings.. i love it that you get that and understand it, putting ur mindset in that time period as well. it's just very refreshing to me not screaming on my screen "IT WAS A DIFFERENT TIME PERIOD!" watching a reaction video.. hahaha

Anil and Pin are cousins through *adoption* as both Pin and Padmika were adopted BUT both Pin and Padmika were adopted by family members and if you put it all on a family tree you'll discover that Anil is Pin's *distant* aunt by blood. And I saw Thai people who explained that the Pin's did have a connotation of a promise to each other similar to engagement/marriage in the past, but I'm not Thai so I don't really know to elaborate on that. About Anil's openness, it's worth mentioning she is very influenced by the western educated society now, where this is a little more accepted maybe, unlike Pin.

Anin and Pin are very distant relatives. Princess Pad was adopted by her distant grandmother who was Anin's real grandmother (Anin's father's mom) which makes basically Anin is Princess Pad's very distant cousin (like very distant possibly 6th or 7th degree relative of some sort). Since Princess Pad grew up in their household, His Serene Highness (Anin's father) treated/saw Princess Pad as a sister/family. Though technically Princess Pad is Anin distant cousin, she looks up to Princess Pad as an Aunt. Now Pin is a direct realtive to Princess Pad since Pin's father was Pad's brother. And Pad took it to herself to adopt Pin when her brother & his wife (Pin's parents) died in an accident. Now about Lady Uang, it's indeed really weird that Lady Uang falls for Anin coz they are actually first cousins! haha! Anin's mother (Princess Alisa) and Uang's mother (Princess Dararai) are actually sisters. which makes them 1st cousins! And Lady Uang has burning desires for Anin. weird! haha

@Ggtgg953 what she says in this episode confirms that IT IS like that in the show too. Otherwise, what she says makes no sense. If you go by the adoptions alone, then Anil isn't Pin's aunt, but her cousin, and then what Anil says here can't make sense since cousins would be in equal standing. For Anil to be her aunt, you have to go by the full family tree from the book, which makes sense since this scene about Anil being her youngest aunt is directly taken from the book.

I think the aunt thing is more of a translation issue. While they are very very distantly related and with adoptions sort of making them cousins, they definitely aren’t that closely related. I kind of understood it as aunt in title, for example she is a princess which is one level up in the royal family than khun pin as an aunt might be. So yeah I think it’s just trying to pick a short translation to fit that makes it confusing, in Thai i think it is probably clearer.

Yeah, just went to the book to see if thats where i got the idea and it must be. The book has Anil say "But if I really relate our titles, I’m your youngest aunt, have you forgotten?" so to me, she was basically just saying I’m a higher rank than you. Granted the book is also a translation so that may be wrong and i may be off on the meaning.

Pin no es adoptada 😂 su papá era el hermano de la tía Pad y la tía Pad tampoco es adoptada, la crió su tía q es la abuela de Anil, Anil y la tía Pad son primas lejanas por consiguiente es Tía lejana de Pin. Anil La llama tía solo por la diferencia de edad, la autora del libro lanzó antes q se estrenara la serie el árbol genealógico, son familia por parte de los abuelos y bisabuelo, igual es familia lejana, tampoco hay tanta sangre compartida 😅
