Omg I figured out her moms connection to sunset curve... So basically in the beginning of the show it shows sunset curve in 1995 and they give this girl named rose a sunset curve t shirt Right before they sing this song she opens her moms chest that has a ticket for a band called rose and the petal pushers. You know I really haven't appreciated Finally Free for what it is For starters the vocals are phenomenal as always. I feel like this song is the perfect blend of Julie's singer/songwritery sound and the Phantoms 90s rock style (that remains me of like Coldplay in a weird way) Second this is the band's first real gig Bright wasn't planned, Flying Solo was just for Flynn, and they didn't even perform the dance so this is their first real planned performance as a band and it's evident in their presence that they're confident in it. Like this is the band, this isn't a fluke or a test or anything they are a band they mesh well together they have an unbreakable connection and they're happy Third the thing that everyone talks about especially since Charlie said this is were Luke realizes his feelings for Julie and owns up to them to himself He looks at her with so much pride and adoration for how far she's come. He sings to her during the breakdown fully meaning every word I usually don't think too much about this song. It's not Wake Up or Bright, the 2 songs Julie sings when she's rediscovering her love of music and writing and reconnecting to her mom in the way they did before she died It's not Flying Solo the first song she wrote with the band (sort of) It's not Stand Tall a song where Julie is fully convinced she's the last one standing and she is performing alone at the Orpheum without her band that she's grown so close to only for them to show up and make history But thinking about it now this performance has so much weight and means alot more than I think people (myself included) give it credit for

I discovered the series less than 2 weeks before my wedding. Planning during covid, what could go wrong? Venue 1- flooded 10 days before the day, venue 2- fire marshal shut down our party bc there were minors in the party and the place was only licensed as a club- despite the owner willing to shut down all sales the entire day just to accommodate us, 4 days before the wedding, we found venue 3 and we Jumped the broom to "Finally Free" then started our night dancing with our family and friends. Thru the entire process, "Wake Up" and "Stand Tall" got us through so many nights of tears... the music is relative at any stage of life.
