I've recently been watching the Sound of Music a lot...A LOT... and I am stunned by how beautiful the relationship between the captain and Maria was/is. Their love scene in the gazebo is one of the most romantic, intimate and beautiful ever filmed. When seeing Mr Plummer and Dame Julie together now it's super easy, and very pleasant, to imagine they are the captain and Maria. Happy together still, after all these years.

The movie came out on April 1st, 1965. My 8th birthday was the next day, so my mother kept me home from school and we went out to lunch and to see The Sound of Music oh, just the two of us. When it was over and we were leaving, I told my mother how much I loved it and wished I could see it again. She turned right around, bought two more tickets, and we did see it again. My father was German, and Christopher Plummer in this role always reminds me of him, similar height, hair, facial structure, and imperious nature..lol.

I was 7 so I've watched it in the 80's but I still think this was the Best film Hollywood has produced. I'm a Tolkien fan, Lord of The Rings and Hobbit, but still TSOM cannot be topped. Did you watch On Golden Pond? A live play with Julie and Chris in 2001 I think, it's on KZbin. Went specially to Austria to climb the same mountain as Julie climbed and sang Climb Every Mountain! since I was in my 18. Я его ещё больше стала уважать и любить за остроумие, юмор, отношение к коллегам и особенно, к своим партнёршам, таким как Джулия Эндрюс и Хелен Миррен!!! they were getting divorced, Chris was divorcing his wife and Julie's marriage had many problems, she divorced her husband too. In my opinion you do not marry your Best friend, that was why Julie and Chris were best friends till the end.

Olivia yes, it's precious, after 53 years he still loves her. I read on an interview, in 2016, that Julie called Mr. Plummer honeybun. They are now over 80 years old, and they remained best friends since the sound of music. That's what I call real love ❤️

For so many years I thought I'd walk down the aisle to the theme song of the Princess Bride but I believe I've quite changed my mind to Edelweiss. :) It's a lovely love song that is a great reminder of true love... hoping mine will last as long and longer!

Já expliquei à Olga, o meu hobby é estudar os comportamentos humanos. ele é fácil de ler, ela é a única pessoa no mundo que eu não consigo ler. The Sound of Music é a única recordação feliz que tenho da minha infância em família. A relação deles é fascinante. Ele é completamente apaixonado por ela ainda hoje, apesar de ser casado, mas nós nunca casamos com quem queremos, isso n é novidade. Ela é um enigma, tem uma alma triste é das poucas coisas que eu leio dela, tb me dá a sensação que a conheço de algum lado e obviamente nunca a vi.

Sim, realmente ela tem uma aura de tristeza com ela, que é difícil de decifrar. Mas é uma senhora com S maiúsculo. Muita classe e muito charme. Há dessas impressões com determinadas pessoas, que nem sabemos bem explicar.

Ela teve uma infância desgraçada, o padrasto tentou... enfim acho q compreendeste. Pelo pouco q ela diz, a voz que tinha era a sua única alegria, aquilo que a fazia sentir 'normal' e integrada na sociedade. Depois até isso perdeu, é triste, mesmo. O ficar sem aquela voz maravilhosa e hipnótica, foi quase como ter ficado sem um pedaço da alma. E concordo contigo, ela veio de famílias pobres, e subiu na vida. É uma Senhora com classe sem dúvida. Tb n lhe invejo a sorte
