The great singers of Broadway musicals are all gone. It's great to have these video records of their talents.

great talented actors and singers. Unusual to see Robert Goulet as King Arthur in Camelot, great. Julie Andrews and Joel Grey.

In 1974, while visiting L.A. I saw Camelot with Robert Goulet as King Arthur, not his original role as Lancelot. I'm not sure who was Guinevere, possibly Carol Lawrence. In any event, the show was magnificent!

A real treat hearing some tunes she introduced in the original Broadway productions. All three performers are true pros and the show was extremely well-done.

"Come to Me. Bend to Me" from "Brigadoon" - reminds me of my first love. I heard this song, and I swore I would never take for granted, but I did, and now it makes me sad many years later.

"Almost Like Being in Love" performed by a kilted female...has to be a first. (And last. I doubt very much that it's ever been done like that since, either.) "Down on Macconnachy Square" does actually give a nice flavor of the real Brigadoon play, for just a moment. The preceding moments were nothing like it but were a nice tribute anyway. ^____^

Sorry...No one sings this way today. Today what u have is a bunch of mediocre musicians/ non- musicians who substitute volume fpr phrasing, dynamics, elegance, etc. These people STUDIES music and voice and really COULD SING. I'm so sick of the horrid "musicians" we have around today. THEY R so boring1

Aside from this segment and the one with Eliza and Mary Poppins, did she do any other My Fair Lady music on this series?

WHy was Joel Grey inserted into this ? Odd.
@chrisn72593 жыл бұрын
Joel was hardly "inserted." He had just won the Oscar for Cabaret, and he had performed on Broadway multiple times.
