Two Funny Mamas is hosted by Emmy Award winning host, comic, actress and New York Times best-selling author Sherri Shepherd and host, comic, Emmy Award winning actress and author Kym Whitley. As powerhouse comediennes and longtime friends, Sherri and Kym have been making each other - and audiences around the world - laugh for more than 25 years. The duo joined forces in stand-up for their Ladies Night Out comedy tour, which played to sold out theaters and arenas across the country. Also, to the delight of their fans, since 2015, Sherri and Kym have shared their love of laughter as co-hosts of the #1 R&B syndicated radio program, “The Tom Joyner Morning Show.”
Sherri and Kym are once again blending their comedic power to deliver a podcast that speaks to culture, sisterhood, moms and working women everywhere. Nothing is off limits when these two funny ladies get together to talk about life, love, motherhood, singleness, relationships, dating, pop culture, sex [or the lack thereof!] and everything in between. Raw, unfiltered and funny. That's what audiences can expect when Two Funny Mamas, Sherri and Kym, get on the mic!

About Sherri Shepherd:
Equal parts actress, comedian, host, producer, author, and entrepreneur, there’s no denying Sherri Shepherd is one of entertainment’s most diversified and flat-out funny performers. Currently starring alongside Gabriel Iglesias in the Netflix comedy “Mr. Iglesias,” Sherri also serves as a weekly co-host of “The Tom Joyner Morning Show” and Fox’s “Dish Nation.” Sherri’s dramatic turn as Leomia Banks in the film “Brian Banks” - as the mother to a 16 year accused of a crime he didn’t commit - received critical acclaim. No stranger to daytime TV, her role as co-host of “The View” during Seasons 11-17 helped earn the talk show its only Daytime Emmy.
Sherri has appeared on “How I Met Your Mother,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Man with a Plan,” “The Jamie Foxx Show,” “Soul Man,” “30 Rock,” “Abducted: The Carlina White Story,” “One for the Money,” Chris Rock’s “Top Five,” “Precious,” “Woodlawn,” “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa,” “Guess Who,” “Who’s Your Caddy,” “Beauty Shop” and “Ride Along 2” with Kevin Hart. Sherri also produced and starred in her own sitcom, “SHERRI” for Lifetime and co-hosted five successful seasons of the classic game show “The Newlywed Game.”
Sherri is author of the New York Times Best Seller “PLAN D: How to Lose Weight and Beat Diabetes Even If You Don’t Have It” [amzn.to/3bdEqS2] and humorous autobiography, “Permission Slips: Every Woman’s Guide to Giving Yourself a Break” [amzn.to/2VPThvJ].
Beyond the business, Shepherd deems motherhood as her greatest accomplishment. “My most important assignment is my 14 year old son, Jeffrey.”
About Kym Whitley:
These days, the majority of people know Kym Whitley either from her frequent appearances on Larry David’s groundbreaking HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm” or from “The Tom Joyner Morning Show.” But that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Kym is actually a comedienne, actress, activist, author and - perhaps most importantly - a mother.
She got her start in the Shelley Garrett play “Beauty Shop,” which started in L.A. and wound up doing a national tour. Her TV career took off during the mid-to-late ‘90s. Kym has appeared in “Married with Children,” “Moesha,” “The Wayans Brothers Show,” “’Til Death,” “Meet The Browns,” “Animal Practice,” “Two Broke Girls,” “The Bay,” “Young & Hungry” and “Twenties” (among others). Kym is also no stranger to the big screen. She’s appeared in “Next Friday,” “The Nutty Professor,” “Along Came Polly,” “College Road Trip,” “I Love You Man,” “Something Like A Business,” “Delivery Us From Eva,” “Fist Fight,” and dozens of other films. She also voiced the character Melonee in 2011’s “Rango.”
Kym adopted her son Joshua in 2011 when he was just three days old. In 2013, Oprah Winfrey tapped Kym for the reality TV series “Raising Whitley,” which ran on the OWN Network and essentially told Kim and her son’s story. Today, Kym calls Joshua her “most treasured possession.”
In 2018, Kym published the book “The Delusion of Cinderella” [amzn.to/3btOqGM].

I had the joy and pleasure of meeting him last year at his Netflix special "It Ain't For The Weak". He shook my hand and asked me if I enjoyed the show. He was so humble, warm and inviting. So my husband and I were very excited in looking forward to seeing him in Detroit, which was scheduled this past December. Our hearts were broken--and still is--because we will never get to experience him in our hometown. I just hate that I didn't get a pic with him at the Netflix taping, a regret that I will always have.

My Dad laid down for a nap at age 49 and never woke up. They said his heart stopped and it was natural causes with no autopsy and we couldn't afford to pay for one so who knows what the exact cause was. Black men die way too early. David did EVERYTHING right and still had his life taken smh Sending love and strength to Julie and the girls ❤️❤️

We needed this. As much as its rude to ask, it gives a little peace to know what happened. Two weeks before he died I was at his show listening to him tell a joke about how good his health was and telling Julie he could go get a younger woman if he wanted to 🤣. Then to get this news. This was a huge shock.

I’m so happy this video came to me because I’ve been wondering how his family was holding up … I wish she had spoken about his mom, but I hope we’ll be able to hear from her soon. David passed the day after my bday and I didn’t know of him until then. When I read that he passed I began to research who he was. I fell in love with him, his comedy and his family immediately. I watch his videos almost everyday … even the ones from years ago … boy he cracks me up 😂 He seemed like such a good soul … wow I’m still sad about him because he had so much talent that needed to be shared with the world, and now his beautiful daughters have to grow up w/o him. There are terrible people who exist in this world and they live to grow old … but the great ones die young. We’ve been losing some great people way too soon. Rest well King … we miss u ❤

THANK YOU SHERRI & KYM FOR BRINGING JULIE ON!!! As an OHIO Born & Bred losing David was a gut punch I couldn’t shake for weeks only to lose my sister the next month(Oct. 18th). And to find out that David passed away from THE EXACT same genetic heart issue as my ex-husband is absolutely mind blowing. My Ex-husband was a gym rat, bodybuilder, and health nut. And our sons were the same age as the girls when he passed. It’s been 11 yrs since Dan passed and although we had divorced we remained connected because of our history as childhood sweethearts and our kids. And I had my boys checked as well afterwards. And now that they are adults I stay on them to keep getting checked. Thank you Ladies! And continued prayers and abundant love to Julie and the girls!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

"get yourself one of these things called family, it ain't for the weak" 😂. I was hoping he'd visit South Africa one of these days. It's so tragic when one dies from something you never knew you had. I too (gym fanatic, always eating healthy) collapsed in june. Diagnosis was clots in lungs. I was lucky to have collapsed at a meeting 5 min from hospital. I suffered 3rd degree burn.Hearing Julie speak was confirmation to me in so many levels you truly do have to go through the process & trust God through it all. And yes your Mental Health is important. Julie you & your husband got me through some difficult, traumatic, & lonely days. When I heard of yiur husband's death I took a walk by the river & prayed for you & your beautiful girls. One scripture I relied on was in the book of Isaiah. It says God will give you & me "Beauty instead of ashes, & the oil of joy for mourning in place of mourning so that the spirit of heaviness would be lifted. God Bless You Julie. You have a sweet, sweet Spirit. I hope our paths cross one day. Author,Poet, & Prolific Writer ~ Deborah Faith Taylor~

I was introduced to David and Julie through Black Love. I thought they were such a cute couple and a testament to true everlasting love. I was so devastated to hear about his passing. Julie, we love you and I’m always thinking of you and I am so happy to see you are doing okay in this video. I’m also so glad that you are taking that trip with your girls. Have fun! Happy Holidays 🎄♥️🎄♥️🌲.

My condolences again. Thank you for sharing David with us. I started watching you both during Covid. Somehow he came across my IG timeline, and I’ve been a fan of you both since and went back and watch everything I could find that he had put out. The love and realness you both demonstrated was amazing. I’m still in complete shock of David’s passing. It’s just unreal how we can have a connection to people who you’ve never met before. You and the entire family are in our thoughts & prayers 🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾

Wow!!! This meant so much to me because I have worried about Julie and wondered how she is. I also wondered about David's sudden passing. Today is Christmas and a difficult day but this video is right on time. My son died suddenly in the same way in Feb 2019. It is a silent killer and it is impacting alot of men of color everyday. God Bless You Julie. I could hear how much he loved you in the way he said your name....Julie.

I followed him for twenty years. He was so funny. I also enjoyed his youtube. Shocked and emotional when he passed. I lost my dad at 12. So I understand his family grieving. Life does go on. But memories last and treasured. We will all keep him with us thru his family and comedy.

Thank you for the opportunity to hear Julie's perspective. We all love this family so much that although she was calm and mechanical about explaining David's medical condition, it still hurts! David was a work horse with multiple projects, so glad that Julie has spiritual, and strong moral support from so many people, both personal and professional. Their two young babies (teens) all of us are still mourning him. Julie, our family loves you and your darling daughters, God will continue to give you loving strength and peace! 🙏✌️🥰♥️
