Always a huge fan of Alfred. She is a testament to hard work and sticktoitiveness. I remember her in High School Champs in Jamaica and of all the girls she competed against in her generation, she has achieve a lot because of her determination and she's just getting started. Very inspirational journey.

I love her attitude, despite the fact she’s not beating ShaCarri in a serious race, ROFL. I also noticed something I was gonna say before and I’m happy she said her steps are wide…although she’s a great starter, I felt disappointed she took such wide steps at her start. So, I guess I’m not crazy to have thought that if she too said it. I think she looks much better overall than she realizes…great race from her.
@mssha19806 ай бұрын
Yes not as long as ShaCarri can consistently run 10.7. I remember you saying during indoors that Julien didn’t look like she had much speed and that’s what I saw here. They’re going to have to seriously rework her form to get her speed up. ShaCarri not even in top form and she blew past her. Same will happen with the likes of Sherika, TaLou, Shelley and even Aleia
@stevie5866 ай бұрын
@@mssha1980 yup! Ok, so I also kept looking at Julien and thinking although she’s a very fast starter, her legs are going side to side instead of straight forward. Well, in her interview after the race, she literally said what I said…she said she’s running “wide” instead of straight forward. That would take a long time to change…you don’t just train overnight and fix how your legs move and their muscle strength in those areas. ShaCarri is definitely in 10.7 form (it was cold in Eugene,m which is why they were so much slower) and she is confident at the moment & with her new start. The more I look, the more I feel ShaCarri is gonna smoke them in Paris.

@@stevie586 Julien will be ready by next Olympics but she can still medal in Paris imo ShaCarri looks good. It’s going to be a battle between ShaCarri and Sherika
@stevie5866 ай бұрын
@@mssha1980 I’m trying so hard to figure out Julien, especially since she runs identical to my sister right above me with those huge muscles and more masculine build. In one sense, those muscle lead to power, but power does not always equal distance, which is why we see so many folks who are fast in the 60M are slow in the 100M, and vise versa…folks fast in the 100M are often slow in the 60M, or at least not the best. I truly feel Dina and Julian are a perfect rival…although Dina is more trim, her muscles are perfect for efficiency, but she and Julien both drop off in speed at a certain point. Like Christian Coleman, they’re true 60M champions, while they “can” do the 100M, and Dina is actually more versatile in that she figures something out to do even the 400M well. The 100M execution just isn’t fully there…they’re built for very short or a little more distance than 100M. Now, Elaine, Shelly, Shericka, and ShaCarri, when you see them run, although Shelly is the fast starter of them all who only just got finally a strong finish (less Jacko 2023), they are strong finishers. When everyone else is at their top speed just maintaining in their 4-speed manual, those four ladies have that SMG 10-speed transmission that keeps going up to the next gear whenever they want it to! I am kinda with you that the battle may be Shericka and ShaCarri, but I honestly don’t like how Shericka looks so far and I truly think it’s because of what I kept saying to people last year, which is that her body is due for a crash after she went from 23/24 200M to 21.4 overnight and 11.3(I think?) to 10.65 overnight. The body is gonna shut down at least one year, like ShaCarri in 2022.
@mssha19806 ай бұрын
@@stevie586 Dina and Julien lack of speed is why they aren’t consistent 10.8 runners. I would like to see if over the next few years they can get into 10.7 Sherika opened at 11.0 looking heavy and out of shape but powerful. Once she slims down I def think she’s going 10.7. But I agree I wonder if the fast times over these past few years have then a top on her body. It was rumored she was injured.
