I took this beautiful lady in a cab back to her hotel after a DO 40 event. She was the most wonderful, lovely person. I wish I could see Julie again.

Wonderful, intelligent interview from the great Julie Newmar re: the great Jack Cole! I had the great fortune of taking class with him (and the great Matt Mattox, jazz and ballet) and Jack Cole's partner, the great Beatrice Kraft in Hindu at Harkness House for Ballet Arts when I was 15, 16 on scholarship in New York City. I love hearing Julie Newmar's point of view, and personal experience! xo! CC

Julie Newman’s recollections of what it means to train under a true master and creative genius are absolutely exquisite. Newmar illuminates the impact of Jack Cole on Gwen Verdon and distinguishes it from Verdon’s later impact on Bob Fosse.

Wonderful insight. So much work goes into entertainment, Julie brings the rich color and texture of the time and the characters to life through her recollections. They were really wild.

The ravishing elegant Julie Newmar. Such class ,refinement and real beauty. Well lived life ,well articulated intelligent witty mildly eccentric but never boring. I find Julie absolutely Spellbinding !! I feel she holds and carries herself with such poise due to her dance training for correct posture. Just a marvellous woman. How many women today well into their 80s who ooze such sexuality ?

I am a huge fan of Jack Cole, Gwen Verdon and Bob Fosse. I read somewhere years ago that Julie Newmar studied dance before she became known as an actress. I didn't realize she had danced with Jack Cole's Hollywood-based troupe until I saw this video.

Ms. Newmar, thank your for sharing so much. Did you spend much time with Rita Hayworth, and if so would you share some of those moments? Also, your life style has really served you well, you look and sound amazing. You're sharp, clever and funny. How do you do it?

It is not Matt Maddox who does the dance to Hitler's voice. It looks like Marc Platt who was also in Seven Brides as well as Oklahoma.

she still beautiful and elegant she should do her own documentary on dance and choreography. jack cole's life is far better than Bob Fosse. i have a feeling that bob and jack "rehearsed their moves" all night long. and gwen didnt mind. she accepted the theater life with all is discrepancies.
