Hey JD, thanks for getting on here and just being you. Thats the reason I'm here. I think your cool.

I agree. A cool dude that is just being himself. So refreshing compared to the rest of the internet.

I recently started enjoying whole-bean coffee and it's almost a hobby of sorts. I'm using pour-over method for mine, and it's surprising how tea-like it is. Anyway, i love games and coffee, and found that our interests align there, and I love your video essay format and chill vibes. Cheers to that, my man.

As for sitting or standing personally I think it shouldn’t matter to the people watching. We should all be here for the content not whether someone is standing or sitting, so with that do what works for you JD. We love the relaxed conversations regardless

Office worker here. Usually too busy with constant work. Can confirm multiple hours sat down is a killer on the body and I've probably put on 10lbs in the last 6 months 😅 get me out of there!

Weight gain occurs when you consume more calories than you burn. If you're unable to stay active but want to lose weight, try reducing your calorie intake.

@DreamyAbaddon yep. I'll work on that after the new year festivities 🤣

New sub but as an older gamer myself ( getting back into it after a few years) it's nice to hear that atleast someone is still relaxed and it just doesn't matter what where and how you play. On the topic of you sitting or standing...... that has to be your decision lol.

I just like the fact you are willing to share your experiences and get the most out of whatever platform you are using and talking about.

I do not think you are a hobbyist! You are a professional gamer, and you get paid to play games! You also get free things to play more games on and review them. Also, as a professional who owns his own business, you have certain advantages over regular people. But none of this is terrible because you have only been a professional gamer for a few years, so you can still relate to regular people. You are also a Dad, giving you a different viewpoint than a single man. Again, this is not bad; it just makes you different. You are JD, the professional content creator and gamer who has coffee as a hobby, and we love you for it!

@ Dude was spouting same talking points as Dreamcast guy. I have no loyalty to any company video games should come out onto every console. There is no point in exclusivity anymore.

I grew up with a dad who collected video games. I played on everyone from the Atari 2600 to the Xbox one. Gaming has always been a crucial part of my life. I've moved away from console gaming for the sole fact that I wanted to continue to be able to play these games. I always said it was Xbox vs. PlayStation, Consoles vs. PCs, and Nintendo was just chilling in the corner doing its own thing. I agree with you, just play games. Enjoy gaming. stop being snobs about what people do and don't use. Yeah, I play on PC, I enjoy PC building and seeing what my computer can handle, BUUUUT, I can't afford to rebuild my computer every year. Its been the same for 5 years. I still can play the games i want to play. maybe not at the best quality, but 1080p is perfect for me. TLDR: play the games you want the way you want! don't dictate how other should or shouldn't do things. It really isn't that hard to be nice 😉

Thinking on your questions about income and hobbies, I think it is easier to justify spending more when it's for yourself. But when your hobby is ALSO your job, a person has to start justifying in new ways that aren't just "this looks fun" .

"I feel like you are selling me something" Yup, that was me 😅 I didn't mean it in the used car salesman way, but I can see how it could have come across that way. My bad :p The compromise looks very good though! Coffee tutorial (sort of) at first and then chill discussion

There’s so much aggressive categorization online. Can we assume most people have a pc/laptop and a console? Isn’t that more realistic than only having one or the other? I never understood all the hate and gate keeping around being a pc or console gamer. Since I’ve always had some of both 🤷🏻♂️

Yes, working a desk job absolutely destroys your body, but what don't you understand? As a fitness professional, I'm sure you understand how it affects the body. As a father, I'm sure you understand why people do things for money even if it isn't healthy. It'd be great if we could all get secure jobs that pay well and keep us healthy, but not a lot of those going around.

One think that jumped out at me is that when you doing it like in this video sometimes you jump out and in focus camera doing camera stuff I am guessing. For example around the 8:40 isn mark you can see what I mean. And the desk jobs nowadays we have standing desks and those are dam great

I agree with the silly conversation point I grew up playing on a DS and I had friends with an xbox or playstation and I got older and met friends with a pc. But times have changed it was a pipe dream before to play with friends on other platforms. And gamer heaven for some meant different things. Gamming is a hobby for my i resisited becoming a PC enthusist because that works for some but not for me I gotta admit upgrading the family PC was life changing but I never felt an allegiance for a specific platform. And it makes my life easier when I dont have be like oh... you're not on my platform...but even on pc you got the launcher wars...kind of steam is a monopoly sute but it also the most popular but I have an account on epic and gog because I love gaming where doesnt matter too much if I'm getting what I want. And Id like ethical practices too, but Id keep yapping if we go there 😅 play what you want where you want and I got give to xbox they are trying to stay ahead of the gaming mainoy because they are bleeding money from game oass though pro consumer. But they NEED to stay on making consoles. But as a software company owned by windows youd think they might compete with the PC launchers but they are swinging heavy into streaming. With is dumb these arent 2 hrs experiences most of the time like a movie you revist these in sessions for 2 lhrs maybe but its not the same. Now I have a 2,000 pc that I play Warframe and dump Nintendo games on to emulate 😂
@benthompson5170Күн бұрын
You will not please everyone JD what your doing is cool. Keep it up. 👍 my main way to play is on my steam deck oled. Pc will be next thing. My ps5 is nice. But i am realising pc is the way. Steam games on both will be nice.

@FabuBrikКүн бұрын
Maybe if you game for your job then you are no longer considered "casual" but otherwise pretty silly. Similar to my comment yesterday on PC vs console gamers. Consoles are effectively PCs at this point and it doesn't matter at the end of the day. We're all just gamers. 🤷♂
@BuddhakingpenКүн бұрын
Theres too many damn games to be up in arms about whatever gamebox you choose. It mattered back in the day, when the system determined like 90% of your gaming library. But thats not the case anymore. Like snes and genesis had totally different games, even when the name of the title was the same. Almost the entirety of psones library was exclusive, especially once sega saturn flopped. It mattered back then. People goin back on forth about the gamebox that has an extra 15 games on it out of thousands just seem weird to me. As far as differentiating being a hobbyist or activityist or whatever, thats beyond my wheelhouse. I guess its a topic, but a hobby is literally an activity that you do in your free time to enjoy yourself by definition. So to differentiate a word with another word you already use to describe it is overcomplicating things to me. "I'm not a human being, i'm a person"

sadly most decent titles are not supported by xbox play anywhere. kind of a deceitful marketing gimmick in actuality. Just another reason why consoles are trash.
