I started playing PoE2 and now I'm hopelessly addicted 😂. 20 hrs in on Act 2. It took me about 2 hrs to beat the Act 1 boss. I just went into souls mode and persevered. I too am playing on an ultra wide monitor. I have been raving about 21 x 9 since I received my Samsung G8. I can't recommend it enough. Enjoy your PoE 2 journey. Cheers!

wukong isn't a soulslike it's more hack & slashy but it's definitely an amazing entry point to the genre as it has many soulslike inspired elements.

I mentioned POE2 on your last post and you said it wasn't for you. I tune into your stream this morning and you're playing it. I'm glad you gave it a chance dude. It's my first arpg and it's got its hooks in me. I also noticed you chose monk. That's one of the hardest classes so you might have an extra hard time on an already tough game. I just wanted to let you know before you get too deep into it.

I wish Julien went back to his old format. I prefer the previous room he used and the top view when he’s making his coffee. Man, I miss the 90s. My favorite era of video games started from 1992 and ending in 2005. The 4th, 5th , and 6th gens kicked so much ass! I pretty much have every game I’ve ever wanted owning a Steam Deck, Switch Lite, modded Vita, modded PSP, and smartphones with emulation apps. But the era I miss was definitely the 90s. From 1993 with the release of the 3DO and Jag until 1996 with the release of N64, there was this big technological paradigm shift that we’ve never seen before. Going from 16-bit (4th gen) to 32/64-bit (5th gen) was this monumental leap we’ve never seen before or have seen since. Felt special living through those years. By the time PS3 came out, it no longer felt magical to me. I do love my PS4 and Steam Deck, but most games from the last 11 to 18 years don’t hold that special feeling like the games I played from the NES up to the GameCube. I’ve beaten Super Mario World several times. I’ve beaten Super Mario 3D World once and have no urge to ever play it again. I do prefer Mario Kart 8 Deluxe over any other Mario Kart surpassing my beloved Double Dash!! Steam Deck changed my gaming life. Now when Julien had his indecision on what he wanted to do with his KZbin channel a few months back, I didn’t play my Steam Deck for 3 months from August and didn’t start playing it again until last month. There’s only two IPs I still want to play: Anything Final Fantasy VII and Shenmue. OG FF7 and Shenmue II are my top 2 favorite games ever. *PlayStation* *4:* *12* *Games* Flower God of War God of War III Remastered Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain The Order: 1886 Ratchet & Clank Shenmue Shenmue II SteamWorld Dig 2 Tekken 7 Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End *Steam* *Deck:* *20* *Games* Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Batman: Arkham Asylum Batman: Arkham City Batman: Arkham Knight DuckTales Remastered Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Hot Wheels Unleashed Journey Rise of the Tomb Raider Shenmue I & II Shenmue III Sonic Superstars Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Tomb Raider Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Yakuza 0 Currently playing Shenmue III and while the story is awful, I do like being in Ryo Hazuki/Yu Suzuki’s world of Shenmue. There is this peaceful ambiance I love from it. I tried playing Yakuza 0 and it’s nowhere close to how Shenmue plays. What I’m really waiting for is FF7 Rebirth on PS+ so I can buy a PS Portal to play it. I doubt the Switch 2 is capable of porting it if the base PS5 can’t play it as smooth and as beautiful as the PS5 Pro with close to 16.7 teraflops to the base PS5’s 10. Even a Rog Ally X and Legion Go could have trouble playing FF7 Rebirth correctly. I returned to playing my Steam Deck again after getting 3 stars in all cups in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I don’t plan to 100% it because I don’t want to deal with beating the staff ghost times. For the past month, Steam Deck is getting daily usage similar to when I first got it back in Feb 2024. It remains my favorite purchase of the year and my favorite gaming device ever. It’s one of the legendary gaming devices up there with NES, OG Game Boy, Super NES, PS1, and PS2. Systems come and go but very few are truly legendary.

4:45 - 4:56 Young man are you starting to understand why your family makes the comments they do to you about video gaming?
@jdxcoffee2 күн бұрын
They don’t make comments. Gaming is my job. Imagine saying that to someone working a 9-5 and the. Having to work weekends. You must not understand unconventional entrepreneurship

@@jdxcoffee you yourself said that they do make comments about it in a previous video, unless perhaps this is more or less a bit for ongoing content generation and engagement.

Black Myth is not a Souls-like and you'd know that if you've played any Souls Game. Black Myth is a hack and slash action RPG. It's like calling Stellar Blade a Souls-like .
@The8bitbeard3 күн бұрын
There are some parallels for sure though. Shrines instead of bonfires. Gourd instead of estus flask. Dying over and over sometimes in an area until you grind up enough skill, equipment and experience to be able to beat that enemy and proceed. It's a bit easier than most souls-likes though, but I'm not sure difficulty is the one factor that determines whether or not something is a souls-like.

This is a bit aggressive, yes it may be an action game, it is still closer to souls like than most action games, much closer than stellar blade.
@mncllama3 күн бұрын
And also a decent gateway into a souls like without going all in right off the bat
@Sand0ps3 күн бұрын
Your gatekeeping is showing, wukong is a souls inspired action rpg. Souls “like” infers that it’s “like” a souls game, not a carbon copy souls replica that copies everythjng every souls game has ever done frame for frame… dude you fromsoft bros need to chill TF out… and to my point I’ve played every souls game…
