My son's barbershop quarter chose this song to perform. That was enough to make my heart sing. Their choral director died unacceptably. They sang to him at his bedside before he died. I hope that they sounded so amazing. Their choral director was pretty damned awesome. He deserved a perfect performance.

Bing Crosby's boys were going to school there, when Dad's quartet came on stage he came out & joined them! We have one pic. It was 1948.. I think they sang , Coney Island Baby...

Nice cover. This is such a sweet song. I feel these NYC Jewish kids who grew up in 20th century Brooklyn/Queens (e.g. plus others the same like Simon and Garfunkel, etc.) must've had access to not only some very gracious gifts from their generous God, but also some really advanced education in music, hey? Billy Joel is a gifted musician too, as well as having a vocal talent the likes of which only God's angels will usually produce. I'm astonished at how talented their songs and music are. It's complicated 'coz some seriously dedicated vocal talent and polished musicianship is used in the original works of Billy Joel's songs and music. Not all, but most of the stuff he published is truly masterful and classic in its finish. HArdy any musicians even fully appreciate his talent, and even then it's only when we analyse it and listen to it repeatedly 'coz it's unstoppable and without a record of it, it can only be enjoyed for that brief window of time it's being performed in. I can't praise this piece enough and can only think Billy Joel's gifts and talents come from a place far above him and the rest of us mere mortals. Someone up there loves Billy Joel's parents so much, 'coz seriously... This is divine! Billy Joel's original recording (especially with the video) is a helpful reminder of the fact there is a God above! And He likes to bless some of us with truly awesome talent and wonderful gifts of song so the rest of us experiencing it can all be left in awe and wonder. What a wonderful and awesome experience it would've been to see this performed early on y the original performer/s... It's truly a classic radio hit and can be listened to repeatedly without growing tired of it. The original recording of this is just the sweetest song of all the 20th-century songwriting we have on record! I feel blessed to have the ears to hear it and experience its wonderful sound and story.

Julien, I love your productions they are great. As a lead in the Knights of Harmony Chorus I don't get the chance to practice with in quartet as much as I would like. Is there a way of you editing your pieces so there are one part missing, so anyone could join in as a lead, Barry, Bass or Tenor? What would be excellent of course if you could have all four parts with some sort of interactive switch, this would allow one part to be silenced. Needs multitrack audio probably too advanced for mp3 yet. Your thoughts .

Hmm good question, I don't even know. I was casted as Harold Hill in a musical, back in college and I loved the barbershop quartet. They were struggling learning their parts on Sincere, so after a while, I ended up memorizing them myself and singing them. Then a few years later, late 2008, I decided to make my first KZbin video where I'd self harmonize. Things took off from there slowly, one video at a time, and now here I am. ;)

***** In college? I usually think most people start when their younger. That fact that you're so good and started in college makes me inspired. Thanks. I'll try to believe this phrase again "It's never too late".

Well done, chaps. I love this song. When I sang in a large choir, the bass would get jealous of the notes we tenors got to sing. :) Jon in rural BC, Canada

No not really since my brothers ear is actually two times smaller than the other ear. If you lived with it you might not be as disturbed idk js
