My HG oil control primer is Lancome Prep and Matte. The Sephora brand Mattify primer is a less expensive dupe, works great but I do prefer the Lancome. Both are more of a gel texture and absorb really nicely into the skin, leaving zero residue which is crucial for oily ladies. I’m SUPER oily myself and this + a longwear foundation is a brilliant combination on me. Always works well on my oily and combo clients, too.

@@julieruby The smashbox one is one that I find the easiest to work with. Sometimes the hourglass has a white cast on deeper skin. The nars and Laura M. one are a lotion texture, but I agree the Laura M. Isn’t super intense in the matte department. While nars is more intense for sure like if you do a dry foundation with it, it can look a bit dry. The smashbox one is wild when it dries it has this powderish finish and with living in humid, hot climate with very oily skin it was one of the only few that kept me matte. So long story short to me I would say 1)smashbox, 2)nars, 3) Laura M, 4)hourglass. Lol But dude! Ask for some samples from Sephora and some come in travel sizes too.

I have a suggestion for you for an oil controlling primer - the Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Blurring Primer. It’s really nice. Keeps oil at bay all day. Keeps powdering down to either never or minimally. I believe it’s silicone based. They do make a travel size, so you can try it with less risk. I bought it in person and didn’t see the travel size, so I do have the full sized one. It works great under lots of foundations. Rebecca Capel uses it all the time and that’s what prompted me to buy it. I really enjoy it.

Love how you have your kit set up, and that backpack looks so easy to move around! I might have to check that out. A matte primer that I find works well is the MAC Mattifine primer, it's super nice and controlled oils all day (12 hours). Also, the Nars radiant creamy concealer is a great lighter weight one and it looks beautiful on a multitude of skin types. I see that Too Faced is changing owners sort of and sounds like they are only keeping some core products. I hope your concealers stay!

Thank you so much Megan!! Yes, I LOVE my backpack. I believe I've used that MAC primer at least once, but I'll know by packaging lol the NARS one was great, but I just couldn't get a lot of product out at once because the container is so thin. NOOOO! Hi Julie! For oily skin I like the seriously shine free formula 10.0.6. It’s a mattifying moisturizer. For concealer I just started using the Sephora brand bright future gel serum concealer. It’s sooooooo good. Super light weight but the coverage is a little bit above medium and blends like a dream. And it doesn’t hurt the pockets when repurchasing 😝.

Hi Julie! Hi again Julie. I’m almost done with my make up kit and it has been so hard choosing a concealer. I went to my local Mecca store (like Sephora) in Australia and the assistant told me the Too Faced concealers are being discontinued from August and they won’t be getting anymore stock or shades. Apparently the brand is discontinuing them. I wasn’t sure if this only applies to Australian consumers. Curious if you’ve heard anything about that? Also which other concealers would you recommend? Don’t mind me rambling!
