Julie I did the EXACT same thing. My neighbor had a new back porch put up and the contractors were going to haul all the old wood away. I did the same and ask them if I could have it. They were pleased because all they had to do was move it from one yard to the next and it's saved them time money and gas because you have to pay at the dump. FREE is fabulous!

Those wooden houses/churches remind me so much of a big church birdhouse I have that I keep on my hearth. I don't know if you ever make birdhouses but I know you could. The front of the birdhouse looks a lot like what you made here. The steeple is tall but the box is at the level of the lower roof, if that makes sense. Whoever made it used an old door knob with a metal plate backing as the perch below the hole. I don't put this piece outside, just use for decoration but I love it. It's your fav two-tone - distressed white wood and they put rusty tin on the roof so it's that brown & white combination. Wish I could post a pic. Could use different old hardware stuff on those to decorate them, whether birdhouse or not.

I see everything as a potential pattern to create more. If I cannot keep the piece for a pattern, I will take a few minutes and trace it out on paper and write the directions on how to create it again. Your scrap wood connection is awesome and a great idea and I love the use of reclaimed wood so it does not go to waste and I just love the look! Great job on the sled!!! I love the crockery stamps from IOD and have several of their large stamps and they are awesome! Love the wall pocket!!!! And your churches are to die for! Girl you rocked it!!!!!!

I just found your page I can’t stop watching your videos. I absolutely love antique stores, refurbishing things, but I am terrified to use power tools. I think you should use the sleigh metal plate as a sign. Paint with white chalk paint and put merry Christmas in red letters. Match your red and white towels.
