I first heard robin lane's "send me an angel" on WLAV back in the 80s. Always love the female fronted bands

You know, I was pretty ignorant of the GR rock scene until maybe the late '90s. In the '80s, for me, it was WRIF and WLLZ outta Detroit. Lately though I have been digging into more West Side bands from the '80s and '90s. Any suggestions?

I use to have the first two Sunflower Bean albums. The first was very psych the second one got poppier so I didn’t keep following them. I will look into that album. I would like to get first album again. I never got into 99 Luftballoons but yes very very 80s

Hi Steve! I agree - their 2nd album was quite poppy (poppey, popp-ish, whatever) compared to their first. This one definitely has a good dose of pop to it but I think they do a fine job of bringing in all of their influences. Thanks for watching!

I enjoy REO. Definitely a band that people love to hate. I’m going to check out Sunflower Bean. Not familiar with their music, your description peaked my curiosity. Take care, Dave.
