For those of you not familiar with Tucson, I’d like to add that the Rillito River shown last, at this stage is likely 10 - 15 feet in depth. (Correct me if anyone knows for sure) Thought this adds a greater perspective of how much water is really flowing.

Awesome! After the "NonSoon" last year, we are actually getting rain. The sad part is 2 girls were washed away and as yet, not been found. Thanks for sharing. 😍

So THATS how a flash flood looks. Its amazing how I always see the warning signs for such events but oddly enough never actually see the flooding. Great footage. Liked and subscribed.

Thank you for uploading videos! I like the way you explain and show actual footages! I live in Europe /Germany and grew up in Hungary, pretty flat terrain both, but I don't really get how these 'washes' are designed or how they work. So over here you would have rivers which catch the water and have their own flood areas. Are these washes basically temporary rivers in case of rain but most of the time a dry riverbed? 🤔And did nature design them and humans just built a road across them, without thinking about a bridge? 🤔 I am interested, I wouldn't even mind a video about washes-explanation either 😄 Thank you for sharing your videos! Greetings, Judit

The washes or arroyos are naturally formed by the water runoff from either rain or snowmelt in the mountains. Any other time they are dry. They make for a nice place to walk a dog or go rockhounding in the city. As was shown, all the smaller washes feed into each other until they reach the Rillito (last shown). From there the flow continues to the Santa Cruz River which does hold pockets of water throughout the year. The places where water flows over the roads are mostly in rural areas. In these cases, it’s where urban sprawl has met up with rural life. Infrastructure tends to lag behind.

I wish we had more of an infrastructure to capture this rain. Big ideas are needed for the future.

All these years of not having enough water in the desert, and all this just goes on to disappear! What a dang shame! When will someone come up with a plan to harvest the rainfall?

Very few raindrops in the west are unaccounted for.

I am trying to do my part. Got passive rainwater harvesting with earthworks and a 1,500-gallon cistern that's full.

Why no pool trucks getting filled with water and filling swimming pools for later use. You prayed for rain and then wasted what God gave you.

Going out to old Tucson with all the dips use to be fun when it's dry, not so much when it's flooded. Just regular monsoon season, Not global warming or the end.
@rankinstudio3 жыл бұрын
Global warming is a fact. Weather and climate are not the same thing. This monsoon is far from typical.
