July Garden Tour. We finished planting out the first 2 of 7 flower beds on the path to the pond.

We designed 7 flower beds to begin filling out the 2 acre blank slate of grass and have finished the first 2. A mix of zone 5b perennial - Empress Wu Hosta, Wisteria, Cardinal Flower, lilac, chicago hardy figs, lillies, Brazilian Verbena - and some tropical plants - Colocasia, Alocasia, dailia, ranunculus, agapanthus, chinese ground orchid - to fill out some of the beds with color and full summer interest. Many plants grown from propagation through hardwood or softwood cuttings while others are overwintered and replanted as tubers and bulbs. As we finish planting, edge and mulch these beds we will share the change to the landscape and anything of interest along the way. Wildlife spotting as well.
