Obligatory Duty: Islam mandates honouring and caring for parents, especially in old age, as a core responsibility, mentioned alongside worshipping Allah (Surah Al-Isra 17:23).
Kindness and Humility: Treat parents with respect and patience, even when they are difficult due to old age.
Gratitude: The importance of parents, especially mothers, is emphasise. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Your mother, your mother, your mother, then your father.”
Dua for Parents: Pray for Allah’s mercy upon them, asking Him to reward them for raising their children (Surah Al-Isra 17:24).
Obedience and Service: Obey and serve parents physically, emotionally, and financially, so long as it does not contradict Islamic teachings.
Reward: Caring for parents is a virtuous deed with great rewards. The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Paradise is at the feet of mothers.”
