For $130 I would expect this replica to have the pieces be magnetized and move on their own like in the movie. And what is this replica made of? The website doesn’t say but it looks like plastic. Seems a bit pricey for a big plastic replica

Just what I thought too! Magnetic pieces, wooden box and animations in the screens. Wouldn't be impossible with the tech we have now. That would have been worth that price, or I would pay a bit extra too.

@@curiousquartet5614 There's someone who made a really good replica of the movie one...and upgraded it using parts from the deluxe edition. Unfortunately, this version seems to be the deluxe edition with slight upgrades to the pieces and adding a back to the game box along with paint.

I bought the mini version and although I love it it’s just so so tiny and you can’t play without knocking your token down bc they’re the size of your fingernails so I also purchased the big one you have , love the review

I still find it funny that the movie made some severe changes to the game compared to the books. The book version had a second game if you flip it over...which is why Zathura, in the novels, was the sequel to it rather than its own thing.

Thanks to the blueprints available online. If you do happen to have a ruler at hand and if you don’t mind, I was wondering if you could tell me exactly, excluding the hinges, the width and length of the board in centimetres, just to check something, because I would like to redo mine using different proportions. I checked for this replica, each website says something different. If not, no worries at all

The rules of the game are printed on the wrong sides. In the west we read from right to left. Nothing that a paste over from an online printout can’t fix!

Part 2 has absolutely NOTHING on the original, that's exactly what the original was, ORIGINAL. Just like everything else, they commercialized the new one and used waaaaay too many shiny special effects

honestly i see that as an overpriced piece of plastic shit (sorry if it's not plastic but it really looks like cheap plastic to me), if u want a real replica it has to be made out of wood and the game pieces made out of their respective gemstones

@@filthycasual8187 not if its taken proper care of. and plastic isn't the bee all end all of longevity either it can warp and becomes brittle which i would say is worse than rotting wood, also a rotten piece of wood can easily be replaced but plastic pieces cant be
