Hair: Janet Collection Expression 3x Caribbean Braid - Jamaican Reggae style 80 in.
Color: 1b (5 packs), 27 (1 pack) - if you're doing one color, you only need 5 packs
Total number of twists: 24

-11/16 Peach Cold Wave Rods
-Cowrie Shells
-Gold Hair Cuffs
(all accessories can be purchased from your local BSS or Amazon)
-6mm or 7mm Jump Rings (from Walmart)
-Small Needle Nose Pliers (from Michael's)
WRAPPING TECHNIQUE:
I begin by taking 1 twist at a time then figuring out how far up I would like the curl to start, and then I begin wrapping the hair around the perm rod from that point. I use a WRAPPING TECHNIQUE that prevents the twists from loosening or unravelling around the perm rod.
CURLING TECHNIQUE:
I take a small handful of twists and dip them in a cup of hot water ( I add a few drops of Eucalyptus oil to the water), hold for 10 seconds, then use a towel to remove the twists. Pleeaaassseee be careful during this step not to burn yourself!! Once all the rods are dipped, I show you a DRYING TECHNIQUE I like to use with a long sleeve cotton t-shirt that prevents that water from dripping all over my back. Then apply a generous amount of mousse to the hair, tie it down, then I let it dry.
ACCESSORIZE:
I show you how to use the jump rings and the needle nose pliers to attach cowrie shells to you hair and/or the hair cuffs you get at the hair store. (I know they sell them already attached, but why spend $2.00 for 4 shells when you can make them yourself, sis? - The DIY'er in me just wouldn't let it happen lol.)
