I worked on an oil rig back in the 80s. There was a drill site in Kansas that there were hundreds of these around the location. It was amazing how tame they were once they figured out we wasn't going to hurt them. We would fees them potato chips, cookies, sunflower seeds or what ever was left from our lunches. It got where they would all gather behind the doghouse (building where the crew changed clothes, & get out of the weather) and wait for lunch to be served. Years later I got out of the oilfield and changed my occupation as a CNC Machinist I saw one inside the building on my way to the break room, I went back to my machine and took a cookie out of my lunch and fed it. For about 3 months every morning around 2:30 am it would hop up to my machine and wait for a hand out. It was quite content to eat at my machine and when finished, it would hop away just to show up the next morning like clockwork.

hey that sucks dude, leave wild animals alone. you teach them to over-rely on humans, and make it harder for them to forage for themselves. you also expose them to more danger as they wont be scared of humans anymore, and we humans can be pretty damn dangerous. All around incredibly naive and thoughtless of you. you may have doomed that whole population just because you thought they were “cute”

Some species of Jerboas are carnivorous, feeding on insects. So to bugs these guys are sort of like a furry Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The larger an object, the less effective its structure compared to its mass. For their size, larger animals are simply going to have heavier, more cumbersome, less elastic skeletons, along with a less efficient circulatory system.
