What a nightmare. And if I think about it, I’d leave it all behind as well and hope that insurance saves the day. The thought of rebuilding it feels like an insurmountable task at this point in life. But even in a worst case scenario, what’s more metal than a collection that had to Perish In Flames? That’s way more metal and badass than getting taken out by some poser tornado or a wimpy flood. Just the Grandmaster of Hell reclaiming his music. Wishing you the best brother! My "collection" is meager and easy to transport if immediate evac was warranted. Had I a large collection I would prioritize the OG issue expensive stuff simply based on being the hardest to replace. I had no clue Labrador was under duress and read up a bit. As with everyone else I hope this becomes nothing more than an extreme just in case scenario. Gotta keep the family safe because when those fires do hit, it's game over.

If I was saving 10 records I’d go with… 1. Celtic frost - to mega therion 2. D.R.I. - crossover 3. Merciful fate - don’t break the oath 4. M.O.D. - Gross misconduct 5. Slayer - reign in blood 6. Morbid angel - alters of madness ( just got it today 😅) 7. Acrophet - faded glory 8. Anthrax - among the living 9. Sacred reich - ignorance 10. Sacred reich - American way Don’t worry those are all OGs I’m not a common peasant. I might just make a video response tbh. Oh wow... I´m a little bit in the same situation right now. The southern part of Germoney where I live is haunted by storms, hailstorms and floods right now. Until now I was lucky but it will continue next week... a lot of people have lost everything. Kind of funny you´re wearing a Dark Fortress shirt, they´re from my area and I auditioned for them in the mid 2000s. I'd reassemble that original 10 inch slab of records I first put together when I was a dumb kid. I didn't know what I didn't know and they made me happy. There would be some Kiss, some old dopey K-tel records, Ozzy, Stevie Wonder, some Gordon Lightfoot and some Diana Ross on account of A) they rule and B) they make me think of my mom and dad who've passed and a few other odds and ends. Point is, the high dollar shit could never make me as happy as those records did when I was a kid. It's all going to be alright, brother. And guess what. I'd take those b/c they'd be the hardest to replace if I wanted to rebuild the collection (God & Lemmy know I ain't finding another copy of RANDY or SCRATCH) or I could sell them for a decent amount if my family needed the money to replace/rebuild other things. Get the family in the car and grab the family photos and important papers (birth certifications etc.) and get out of danger. I pray that your home gets missed by the flames!! My first gut instinct grab a crate and put all my Led Zeppelin albums & bootlegs in it and KISS-Alive which is the 1st rock record I ever got. But also very important grab would be my bag of ticket stubs from concerts only issue is not all are in the bag many are stuck on the back of albums or CDs so I would lose a lot unless I fix that. I pray your home is safe when you are allowed back take car of the family brother. One suit case of my favorite band Ts and on box of cds. Which this is where being a box set collector comes in handy. Most cd box sets are compact and would take those. Priest Sabbath Motorhead Venom etc. and one crate of records. I could fit all of that in my car. We have two cars so that would help. Now if it was immediate? Nothing. Just get my family out and go.
